Hi,

Current Specs:
msi 760gm-p23(fx)
1x 8gb DDR3 Ram kingston
gtx1050ti 4gb https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078ZT22SS/ref=psdc_949408031_t5_B01MEHGRMS
AMD FX6300
EVGA 750Psu Gold

I'm looking to upgrade my Motherboard, Ram and CPU, max £300. I don't plan on upgrading my GPU any time soon since the games I play aren't that demanding (CSGO, Rainbow 6 and I've also played Witcher 3 on these specs and it was fine, med-high, 45-60fps). I would like to ideally keep it to DDR3 since it works out cheaper but also so I don't have to upgrade my CPU as I would like to do this at a later day (within 3 months), but if DDR4 will lead to noticeable improvements then I'm willing to go down this road.
Note: I'm a noob at computer building.
Thank you,

If you upgrade to DDR4 you need to upgrade the CPU NOW. There's no waiting if you want a functioning system.

Your current CPU does NOT support DDR4 in any form. Nor does that motherboard support your current CPU.

Your post is all over the place and I'm not sure if I'm misreading things or you're confused about how compatibility works with AM4.

Hi,

I have updated the post with this knowledge in mind.

There's nothing that uses DDR3 that's a worthwhile upgrade at this point. An argument can be made to go with an Intel build, but it doesn't make sense to completely update your system with used, older parts for minimal gain.

If you're not hurting for more FPS, then save more money so you can really upgrade the entire system to something modern.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick responses and help, I've decided to go ahead with the Ryzen 2200G. However, would it be an issue if I went with the Asus PRIME B350M-A AMD DDR4 S-ATA 600 Micro ATX Motherboard and Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x 8 GB Ram, since its slightly cheaper?

Going for the motherboard you suggested except it being the Micro ATX version.

So the final specs
Ryzen 2200g
Corsair venegnce 2x8 ram
B450 Pro4 ASRock

Thank you for the quick responses and most importantly the help.
Have a good day!
