So i have an RM850x, lots of trouble with it (as far as i know) and im thinking about switching to another brand/type psu

Specs>

i7-9700k (Future OC?)
Aorus Master
RTX SUPER Gaming X TRIO
2x8 GB Vengeance RGB RAM 3200mhz
2xSSD 850/860 EVO
(i can provide more info if needed, cant think of other important factors)

Would like a good 850 watts psu with 80plus gold :) all tips is appreciated

How old is it? The RMx are EXCELLENT PSUs, so I'd be surprised if you're having lots of problems with it.
What problems are you having?
its brand new 2018 version, but for some reason (might be my dumb ass) it freezes on boot, funny thing is EXACT same setup but with my 6 years old 550w psu it runs just fine into boot, installs OS etc. so i just figured it was the psu? again i dont know s*** so... yeah :)

So without fail, if you install the RMx you can't boot, but if you install the old one, it does boot? Have you retested this just to ensure everything was connected up properly?

Were you using the modular cables that came with the RMx?

All cables out of rm850x box, i got an rma on this and got a brand new rm850x, with this (original cables) EXACT same problem at the EXACT same part of the windows/motherboard logo screen, all cables made sure to be connected properly, i have probably switched between 850 and 550 about 10 times, with the 550 being all good, except not being able to power/run(?) my h150i rgb aio.
