Should I get a i5-2400 or a GT-1030 GPU? I'm looking forward to upgrade my PC and can only afford one of them. I currently have a core 2 duo E7400 and a GT-710. This is for low settings gaming

The i5 2400 is a different socket than the C2D e7400. You would have to get a newer motherboard as well.

i5 2400 = socket LGA1155
Core 2 Duo e7400 = LGA775

Gpu for now because you might need to upgrade motherboard and since you said you are on a tight budget i think the gpu is what you should go for

Mine's a Core 2 Duo, I checked the benefits of quad over duo and it's higher so I don't know oof ;-;

My CPU cabinet says Core 2 Duo on it, I dont know xD

It clearly says Pentium G2010.
How is Pentium G2010 the same thing as Core 2 Duo E7400 ?

GPU upgrade starts to seem a better upgrade option.

As stated above you have a Pentium G2010, not a Core 2 Duo e7400. You can remove that sticker

I would start with upgrading the video card first.
