Most GPUs can safely handle up to about 90-100C, though generally you want to keep them a bit cooler or their fan will crank up to max and that is very loud. Unlike CPUs where 65 is fairly hot, 65 is quite cool for a GPU under load.
it depend on your power supply on cooling system....but generally it is around 50-56C when idle...........................and 75-85C even 90C .......when playing, working or having fun
Nvidia says shut down @ 105C, I start to worry around 75C. Not that I ever get that high, right now my 260s fan is stuck wide open, but I'm working on intergrating it int my water loop so I'll just deal with the noise for another week. Water cooling is nice.

Your idle and load temps are way too high unless you have terrible cable management or crazy ambient temps. My 260 idles at 42c and maxes out at 65c with a room temp of no more than 30c. Of course I never leave the fan on Auto, specially in the summer. Fan is always at 60% or higher depending on room temp.
