what the hell just happened

I built my computer a little while ago and everything was excellent. Recently I purchased the System Maxx multi-function panel because it looked cool; it has front usb and firewire as well as some temperature monitors and fan control. Well I installed it like the directions said and it wasn't too hard, then I turned my machine back on and... Nothing. The fans went and everything seemed good except no POST message and NO OUTPUT TO THE MONITOR whatsoever. I tried taking it out, nothing putting it back in, nothing. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong, or even better how to fix it? Thank you.

If the fans give a small twitch it might be a short.
