Question What type of SSD is this?

It came from my dead 2014 MBP. What form factor or whatever is this? The connector on it does not look like all my other M.2 drives. What kind of USB enclosure do I need to connect this to my new Mac?

The 2016 and 2017 non-touchbar Macbook Pros were the last ones with removable SSDs. Unfortunately they used a proprietary interface so your SSD isn't very useful. The touchbar ones were soldered.

Apparently before SSDs became standard on MBPs in 2012, the then optional SSD was standard M.2 but Apple decided this was too easy to avoid the Apple tax on, so made later ones proprietary.
 
You could try one of these adapters on amazon but as you note they cost more than the memory is worth:

first link says "MacBook Air from 2010 to 2011" which doesn't apply. Second one is $65 which gets me a new 1TB drive. Thanks anyway.
