My pc seems to be coming to the end of its life and unable to support the latest games like Elden ring so I’m looking to upgrade it on a budget but not sure what’s the best way forward.
Current system - fx-8320, r9-270x, 16gb ddr3 ram
proposed idea 1 - buy something like a r9 290x used for £70-£80 already spoken to someone selling it for this price. My concerns are will it bottle neck my cpu? And how long is that really going to last as amd has stopped supporting the cards now
proposed idea 2 - upgrade to an intel core i7-4790k with new motherboard to utilise existing ram in order to save money but get away from AMD cpu. My concerns how long can a cpu like this last for?
proposed idea 3 - upgrade to a newer amd or intel chip mb and ram (most expensive option)
