Upon further playing and close up inspection, it appears a big part of the reason Rogue is more optimized than AC IV is because they've gone to micro pixelating some of the semi distant textures for LOD balancing to smooth out performance. This is what they've also done with the Dunia 2 engine in Far Cry 4, so it's not surprising I guess. If you can't even play Unity though, it may be an acceptable tradeoff. Me, I'm a bit off put by it, but then again, I like having the smooth gameplay, and the pixelating isn't terribly bad.

I played Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 as well, which is better than the first, but not really very good use of CryENGINE 3. It's a bit buggy, but has some decent moments of gameplay.

Oh, so that's why it runs better. I had seen some gameplay videos on youtube, and I see no difference at all in terms of graphics, comparing it with Black Flag. I thought they'd run about the same.

I never played the first Sniper Ghost, but yeah, they didn't effectively use the CE3. The foliage look awful, and the trees aren't all that impressive either.

Like I said, part of the reason anyway, but part might also be due to the Omega drivers for me, since I'm on an AMD GPU.

YouTube videos aren't necessarily the best way to judge graphics. Just the fact that the raw capture is heavily compressed to Flash alone makes it hard to see certain details, and you only see it in certain instances, like if you pause in high place like rooftops and pan around and look at trees, etc.

Yeah, I know, but the entire HUD system and character movement, all reminded me of Black Flag. The details aren't all that important for me though, since I don't have the power to turn the eye candy all the way up.
I might drop in on Rogue once I complete a few games that I haven't yet touched in a while.

I finally came back to The Old Republic MMO, after an absence of about 18 months. Obviously as a single player game it loses, it also loses vs AAA graphics, but as an MMO, with a buddy, it is still quite fun and the amount of work Bioware put into the stories for each class is impressive, in my opinion, for an MMO. Now it is F2P, but man F2P sucks I think they really gimp you, you can't even chat until your a certain level which to me is dumb even for a F2P MMO. I also received my order of Outlaws, but haven't gotten around to figuring out how to get it working with my computer, lot of good memories there; I think you can get it on GOG. Finally, I have sinned and played a lot of Xbox 360 due to finally trying Red Dead Redemption; man what an awesome GTA in the Old West style game.

Big Rigs Over The Road Racing
Amazing graphics, story and driving physics. Amazing gameplay too.
Looking forward Star Wars Battlefront.

"uninstalled League"

Wow. This is the perfect opportunity!!!

Uninstall noob feeder gg. Report my noob teammate pls.

Looks like you heeded 90% of the community's advice and uninstalled xD I should have uninstalled about over 50 times at this rate ... lol.

What has happened to Crytek?? Would be really nice if they kept on updating their engine. Crytek's graphics is always one step ahead of all the others. Not sure what has happened to them now. Never hear anything about them anymore. I guess the "can it run Crysis" days are over 🙁 Even Ryse doesn't have better graphics than Crysis 3 IMO. Crysis 3 is STILL the best looking game out there. The textures and detail are just unbeatable.

Most game developers want everyone with a PC to be able to actually play their games. Crytek has a history of making demanding games going back to the first ( and best! ) Far Cry. And hell Crysis couldn't be maxed on existing hardware at all when it was released.

You can only report your team mates for verbal abuse so many times before you get tired of it 😉

Crytek shifted their focus on consoles after Crysis 1 claiming the rate of piracy on PC is too high. And they failed at making money with the console versions of Crysis. There are making a F2P game now.

Yes. The thing is Crytek was good at making PC games. The engine is good for open-world hardware intensive games. Since they focused on consoles they had to put restriction on the open-world part and make it more console like and the game's quality terribly decreased.

It's not so much their engine as other devs doing it a serious injustice when they use it. The non CryTek developed games I've played that have used it didn't make very good use of it at all. It's not like an engine can do everything by itself.

Hello friends! For those who are not familiar with me, my name is Kevin and I'm the Assistant Community Manager for Tom's Hardware.

I just wanted to come by and let you folks know about a little screenshot contest I'm currently running. Doesn't take much to enter but the judge is also a lazy donkey so winners might not get picked often. However, the prizes currently include a (limited) number of $20 Steam gift cards! I know, that's totally useless to console gamers, but you know what? Tough tatas.

Anyway, drop by the thread, show off your awesome-ness, and win some neat (and some not-so-neat) prizes!

So it's pin the screenshot on the donkey time? LOL

You guys should contact Valve and see if they're willing to put up a coupon for a Steam Machine or Vive for Grand Prize. Might be a lot of free advertising for them. Win win.

I noticed they just made a free remaster of HL2 btw.

Well, well well. I know what I'm playing when I finish Mass Effect 3!

Looks a lot like the Fakefactory Cinematic mod for HL2 that's been out for a few years.
