Oh I scavenge thoroughly everywhere I go, so I've found a lot of them.

My main problem right now, is after finally unlocking Science 1 and Gun Nut 3, the Settlement and Weapon workstations still say I need Science 1, Gun Nut 1, 2, 3 for the items that require it.

I assumed whenever a requirement prompt pops up, it means you can't build it, but you can see the Heavy Machinegun Turret has the E to build option.

What is baffling to me is why the Laser Turret at the castle doesn't even show, even though there are 3 of them still in the armory there.

I understand that the Laser Turret requires power as well, but shouldn't it still let me build it, or do I need to supply the required power first?

Dialog option color coding as far as I know goes green, yellow, orange, and red, from easiest to hardest to achieve. I've yet to see a green option, even when I put all my Charisma items on, which leaves me at level 11 Charisma effectively. One post I read said green was 100% chance, but yellow ranges from 67%-99%. Don't know if that's true, but if it is, it probably means you need really high Charisma for green.

At the Forged side quest at the Steel Mill, I got Jake to not kill the guy just by putting on the Newsboy Cap and Black Rimmed Glasses (level 8 Charisma).

Looks really good :)

There is no GTA IV: Liberty City Stories, but there is Episodes from Liberty City.. Just pointing it out.

Wow, these screens look terrific!

I've recently started playing through 'The Witness'. It's an indie title which I'm not sure most of you know about. I had been following it for a couple of years now and I was excited to finally play it. It is amazing, no doubt. The puzzles are challenging and I even needed to use a notebook and pen to solve a few, something which I have never done before. The world is colourful and breathtakingly beautiful.
It is a game where you simply walk around and do puzzles. There is no soundtrack or voice (apart from audio logs) and I can see why people might not like this. It looks like a game filled with mysteries but no story (I could be wrong about that). It does not hold your hand at all either. But if you guys could take a look, I really recommend this one.

Is it this one that's causing motion sickness?

Damn, another odd problem. Any person in an allied settlement I choose for setting up a supply line is rejected by a prompt that says I cannot use that person.

In my searching some say it's a glitch fixed by uninstalling, then reinstalling the Local Leader perk with console commands. Others say you cannot use someone that has a name.

Which is it? Do I have to put up a recruit beacon and wait for people with generic titles like Minutemen, or Settler?

Generally you have to use a generic Settler. If a person has a name and already lives at a settlement they can't usually be assigned to a supply line. there might be a few exceptions but only a few.

Haha, yeah. I read about it but I didn't feel motion sick. I assume it's the FOV. The default is around 54, which is low and you can't change it as of right now. I like my FOV to be 85-90, especially for first person shooters.

Yeah I found out via a kidnapping rescue that it has to be a generic title. The woman I rescued I escorted back to her beach farm just north of the castle, but she and her husband and child were just referred to as "Settler".

The first Settler usually shows up within a minute or two of setting up a beacon.

Yeah I ended up setting up a beacon and adding an addition onto that small 3 bed house, but after two settlers showed up, another did. Plus I wound up having problems with two of the beds inside the house clinging to the addition assembly, and couldn't reset it without one of the beds sinking halfway into the ground.

So I reverted to my save prior to the construction, and just put up a turret to keep the settlement out of the red. The quirky build editor is a slow work in progress for me, but I'll get it down eventually.

Quelaag down
Iron Golem down (one shot)

One shotting a boss, certainly I'm getting the hang of this game?
Next up: Dragon Slayer Ornstein & Executioner Smough.
How hard can that be . . . .

@Mods:
still havent heard or seen anything this year about the gaming/hardware giveaways that were going on at Tom's. the "Giveaway Forum" shows last was a few months ago. any word if they will be reinstated?

just played through most of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die again last year, finally ran my NewGame+. after having just finished Dark Souls 2: SotFS i was even more surprised than i expected how much more fun and exciting the original still is.
Dark Souls 2 i still have "one" mini-boss to kill. one of the Crowns content has a room with 3; an archer, a rogue, and a jerk wearing Havel set. everything else in the game is finished but i cannot beat these 3 fools.
Dark Souls i got most of the way through again. still have to kill that damn octopus dragon in the water and a few others.

not really getting my hopes up for 3, but if it's even as good as 2 i will be very happy.

There's another one I can't wait to play. Have to finish The Witcher 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider first though so it's going to be a while.

The more I play The Witcher 3 the more I'm just in awe of how good the writing is. Just finished the No Place Like Home quest where

The three drunk Witchers dress up in Yennefer's clothes and drunk dial with her Megascope. Freaking awesome. Summon the bitches!

This game is huge. I'm right at 120 hours in and level 26 and I've got designs for gear you can't even use until level 41. Hell the DLCs promise another 30 hours to the main game and you are supposed to be level 32 before you even start the first ( and so far only ) DLC that's been released.

Haha, that quest was hilarious. I reinstalled 'The Witcher 3' because we bought a new 40" LED TV. I've never played at 1080p or on a large screen before, so this was truly an amazing experience. I do seem to experience a bit of an input lag, but it's probably because I used a VGA cable than HDMI. I'd need to buy one.

On the side, I've been enjoying my time with 'The Witness'. The sheer satisfaction of completing puzzles all by yourself is great. So far, I've only looked up one puzzle. All the others I figured out by myself. It's still going to take me some time to finish it though. There's a lot more I need to learn about to do first.

don't remember if that bit was included when i played through the first time. sounds hilarious.

at lvl 50 in NG+ and i have diagrams for lvl 65+. they definitely made this game to last through some hours. maybe 20% through main story.
am actually enjoying gwent this time, ignored it through the entire first run.

A bigger screen makes a huge difference so I hope an HDMI cable fixes it for you.

I have yet to play a game of Gwent. No idea how it works.

checkout Wal-Mart or Big Lots or something similar. HDMI of all lengths for really cheap these days. you probably won't find anything over v1.2 there but unless you're running over 60Hz at 1080p and/or 3D you won't need any higher.

VGA cables can handle up to 2K resolutions at up to 85 Hz. They are also analog systems, which typically have less latency than digital systems such as HDMI. Chances are if you are having an issue with input lag, it is probably a response time issue on the TV.

Oh, I see. I'm going to have to confirm on the input lag though. I played for less than an hour last week and I couldn't find the time to hook the PC back to the big screen since then (TV is in another room). I'll try it tomorrow.
Audio is another issue and why I really need HDMI. I don't even have speakers for my PC (I use headphones only), so audio output is possible if I can get an HDMI cable.

EDIT: I just checked the response time of the new TV and it says it's around 8ms. That's not good is it...?

i bought a $20 30' HDMI cable a couple years ago to run to the next room's large HDTV. i just leave i hooked up for when friends come over and want to check out a game, gets a little crowded with 2 or 3 people hunched around my office desk/chair with beers in their hands. no wireless keyboard & mouse setup again yet but i just take my wireless 360 Gamepad for Windows in there for games.
i don't notice any input lag in there, it's a nice LG 47'. considering most monitors i've used claim 1 or 2ms response, i would say 8ms is kind of bad.
