Yeah sorry about spoiling, sometimes I forget how many are still buying the game. Fixed it.

Anyway, I did the save while falling through the police station floor trick and it worked better than it does for most it seems. Instead of a mass pile of shredded wood blocking the inside of the entrance, there was just the Power Armor frame I'd brought back from the Investigate the Satellite Array quest. I also had no doors missing, as most seem to say regarding the back exit door on the upper floor.

This made me wonder if storing certain items, or any at all, causes problems with the police station. The only thing I recall storing there was that Power Armor frame. So I entered the Power Armor frame, exited the building, stored it out front, then was able to enter the building with zero problems.

I agree that the BoS quests are some of the best. I'm still a bit confused why my BoS Power Armor, though showing the standard Knight paint option, will not let me apply it. I realize that's probably the one that's already applied, but the thing looks rusty in spots and faded, and I wanted it to look polished like the other ones wearing it.

For now I've sufficed with the flame red paint job, though I'd prefer polished silver.

I've been playing Dragon's Dogma for PC now. It's neat, thought it's a little dull in story and presentation overall. The grab system and combat is where the meat is at. It is a true RPG. I've only played about 5 hours now and it's starting to grow on me.

Oh, and I'm nearly there to finishing Ori and the Blind Forest. Great platformer.

For me, Fallout 4 is fun, i played it on the PS4 for a few hours (my PC can't handle it) Witcher 3, for me is really boring. The environment of the game doesn't fit my style.

Fallout 4 is mainly what i've been playing recently. Although I did begin a seasonal character in Diablo 3, my first time trying seasonal mode, so Fallout is likely to go on the back burner for me until the season is over.

like what?
i was kind of disappointed in the armor designs. i know they're supposed to be old and scavenged but i was hoping i would get to craft some better looking stuff. the metal plates are rusted and dented and the leather are mostly like rags even at their highest tiers.
even the newer Institute Synth stuff looked dirty and stained. and i would expect that a "new" paint job on power armor would look like new paint, not faded and rusted immediately. Railroad and Hotrod paint jobs were the cleanest looking i could find.

I just found out the Road to Freedom quest in FO4 resulted in a major armor modding NPC being killed. Tinker Tom. I used the console command to re-enable the clothing armor mod he offers, but he's still dead.

I assume that means I have to wait until I get to the required modding skill rank, then I'll see it as a modding option? Really sucks that they'd have a mere side quest you happen upon break such a vital mod, with zero warning about it.

What may be worse though, is I've read you're supposed to be able to get Railroad HQ quests from P.A.M., but she's not giving me any, and I don't know if there's any way I can make that possible now that I wiped out their main NPCs.

I also revisited the Gunner Plaza to see if I missed any Combat Armor that's better than I have, but didn't find anything better. In the process it made me realize yet another rather redundant and superficial thing about the game.

There was an alert that the Tenpines settlement needed help against an attack while I was attacking Gunner Plaza. I didn't want to drop what I was doing, so I ignored it. When I got to Tenpines afterward, it was as if nothing had happened.

I'm finding that all those endlessly looping settlement help quests Preston gives you are very superficial. They SHOULD be tied to the settlement building system, and stop repeating once you've adequately built up each settlement.

I get the feeling they avoided scripting creature and NPC AI to roam and attack, vs spawning in specific places. Many of the bugs in STALKER were related to such coding. Still though, they could at least have made it so the settlement building has more purpose.

I found new info about The Division. Seems attributes will be somewhat randomly collected and are applied to weapons you pick up. They can even be different for the same weapon. I'm not sure it makes sense to have abilities tied to luck of what you find, vs leveling via actions you perform, and how well you execute them.

They've also released the system requirements finally. I just hope Snowdrop is better optimized than AnvilNext. With this level of detail, it will have to be.

Oooh yeah, Tinker Tom is important if you want the best armor. I have fully armored Army fatigues with +1 Strength and +1 Agility and a fully armored Trilby hat with +1 Charisma as my base clothing. Then glasses add another +1 Chrisma and then Legendary armor pieces on top of that. Stacking is awesome.

I sided with the Minutemen and am still in the good graces of the Railroad and the Brotherhood so he never died in my game.

Almost 60 hours into The Witcher 3 now and it just keeps getting bigger. I finally don't feel like a weakling anymore but I literally just got to the Islands and I've seen a few new monsters so I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Only level 16 and I've got plans for gear that require you to be level 35.

It's really an amazing game visually. The graphics are as good as anything I've played. Makes me glad I spent so much on this monitor with a 100% sRGB color palette. Sunsets are truly stunning. It's also a fun game but as I've said before I'm just not as emotionally invested in the story as I was with Fallout 4 due to spending 500+ ( maybe 1000 ) hours in previous Fallout games. So I probably like Fallout 4 better.

My point is, it had nothing to do with what factions I've joined. Even IF it were caused by joining a rival faction though, you'd think they'd warn you.

It happened because as I was traveling along in Boston, I happened upon a robot asking if I wanted to take the Road to Freedom tour. How was I supposed to know it would end via killing off a major modding NPC?

Bethesda do some crazy stuff.

Actually that quest just discovers the Railroad doesn't it? I could never kill them just because P.A.M. kicks ass. "Solving for theta n when i approaches probability bounds." "Begin administering Pavlovian conditioning." Best robot in the game.
Except Curie of course.

Well, reluctantly I went all the way back to a save just prior to taking the castle, which lost me almost half of the 56 hours or so of play time. This time I managed to join the Railroad faction. I recall the first time through they were firing at me after going through the puzzle door, but it may have been due to a failed optional dialog attempt, don't recall.

As for P.A.M., I attacked and killed her the first time through no problem, then reloaded the last save in their HQ, and found she was not actually combative with me at all. It must have been because I'd killed all the Railroad clan.

Anyways, at least now everything's OK, just a lot of wasted time. BTW, do you put much into Charisma? At level 3 in that skill I rarely manage to succeed in optional dialog, and it's always something very insignificant. I'd just like to know if there's anything good I'm missing by not being able to use that skill better?

Feels weird going from level 27 down to level 17, but actually getting through everything a LOT easier just because you know what to expect. I have managed to find a couple better interim sniper rifles before looking to get back my .50 cal one though. I actually found a night vision and regular .308 on a couple Super Mutants that both have 77 damage.

I did boost charisma but you can find items that give you +1 like almost any glasses and most hats and that's an easy way to spend those stat points elsewhere. You do need at least a 6 charisma to get Local leader 2 and assign supply lines. Other than that it's mostly optional and there isn't much you miss out on I don't believe by leaving it low. You can also find some clothing that gives a +2 that you can just put on in town if you need it. Here is a complete list that's pretty handy if you haven't seen it yet.

I bet that was rough going back 10 levels but you will have a better overall experience for it I think. Lots of stuff you would have missed by wiping the Railroad out early.

Edit: Never mind glasses boost Perception usually. I don't know why i was thinking Charisma. There is one pair that does though. See the list above.

^The only Charisma boosting piece of clothing I've ever worn is the Newsboy cap, but it only boosts it 1, and never results in anything significant.

The only thing I'm worried about now that I joined Railroad, is they hate Brotherhood of Steel, and both seem to have good quests.

From what I've read you need to be careful what quests you do to avoid pissing off one or the other. Apparently it's mostly The Institute that Railroad hates, but unlike BoS, they want to save Synths from them, vs destroying them.

I just bought Skyrim and have put 6 hours into it - and it's already the most amazing game I've ever played. Its world is immersive, its combat is easy to understand, and the gameplay is sublime.

Oh wow, that is rough indeed. I don't think I could ever do that.

I felt a little bad when I decided to betray some factions just so I could side with the other. In my playthrough (Frag may not want to read past this because it is end game spoilers), I guess I was only loyal to the railroad and that was the last faction I joined. The doing quests for the Institute was mere undercover, although at times I wished I teamed up with Shaun. Worst part is, I never cared for the Railroad. I just made a half a**ed decision that I'd be loyal to them, no matter what. I never met the Atoms though.

I finished Ori and the Blind Forest yesterday. I loved it. It had the right amount of challenge in it. The game is gorgeous too, the artwork is amazing. Not sure what I feel about the self made language but I suppose it was for the best. Controls were great too. Overall, really nice game.

Now I'm not sure what to play, MGS V or Dragon's Dogma. I guess I'll do both. I should stop playing too many RPGs lol, they're taking a lot of my time.

I should stop playing too many RPGs lol, they're taking a lot of my time.

I know, right? 155 hours in Fallout 4 and 60+ so far in The Witcher 3 and that's just since Fallout 4 was released. I haven't done anything but game in my free time since. Oh and I played the last episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones in between those. I can't remember the last time there were so many good games out. And I still want to play MGS V.

Avoid if you don't want end game spoilers.

I stuck with The Minutemen just because of how many hours I spent building them badass settlements and the fact that they are just trying to build a better life for the average people. I guess I didn't play any of the other faction's quests far enough to make enemies with the Brotherhood or The Railroad and that's fine because it's in line with what I would call a good realistic outcome. I don't think I can do anymore of their main quest lines with that game but all those 'go here and kill/find this' quests are still available.

In previous Fallout games I've always sided with the Brotherhood. But in FO4, Arthur Maxson who was also the little kid in the Citadel in Fallout 3 is just basically crazy. I liked the Brotherhood under Elder Lyons and if he was more like that I would have easily picked the Brotherhood in Fallout 4 as well.

It wasn't hard to hate the Institute since I already killed them in Fallout 3. The Railroad was a good idea but in the end they are helping synths and not humans. I don't mind helping them but not at the expense of real people.

The Atom cats are basically just a smallish few people in a garage who love power armor. They aren't really a faction that matters in the endgame. They do offer a few cool things like power armor paint.

I played as the woman just because she was voiced by Courtenay Taylor ( Jack in the Mass Effect games and literally dozens of other games ) and I had no problem shooting Shaun in the head right before I nuked the institute  That explosion was pretty freaking awesome. I managed to get a screen shot of it and have it posted on my Steam account.

When some DLC gets released I'll start a new game and try siding with the Brotherhood probably.

Welcome to 2011! Nah, just kidding. I actually just got all the DLC on sale a couple of months ago and I need to go replay that game again too. I finished it before the DLC was released and haven't ever played it again. Crazy considering how many hours I've spent in Morrowind and Oblivion. The Elder Scroll games are right up there in my top 3 franchises of all time with Fallout and Mass Effect.

Good RPGs are like a black hole your mind can get sucked into.

Hey anort, I just noticed I have "Reginald's Suit", which yields a +3 Charisma buff. I don't even remember where I got it. The only Reginald that came up in my searching is Reginald Rothchild from FO3 and FO Shelter, but the only clothing the Wiki talks about him wearing is a robe, and this is more like make shift fatigues.

I've only tested it on Trashcan Carla so far, but she easily gave in when I used the hand over your money dialog option. Then I tried to talk to her a few more times, and she sarcastically says "Oh, it's the robber". The 3rd time though she started smoking a cigarette, like she enjoyed it. LOL

I found it:

fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Reginald's_suit

Looks like you can armor it with ballistic weave. I see why I didn't find it as I played as the woman so I got the dress. Hey don't judge she's voiced by Courtenay Taylor ( Jack from Mass Effect ) Brandon Keener who was Garrus also does various voices most notably Drummer Boy of the Railroad. So Garrus and Jack got to hang out in Fallout 4!

Edit: That link won't work for some reason but you can copy and paste it in a new tab.

Just got Rise of the Tomb Raider. Really looking forward to it since all the reviews seem to say it's amazing. It won't be released until the 28th and I doubt I'll even start it until I finish The Witcher 3 though. It really is a great time to be a gamer.

Well, instead of delving back into Afghanistan or the medieval Gransys, I'm in Dubai now, lol. I started playing Spec Ops: The Line, since I heard a lot about this game's story and I'm sucker for those...hehe. The gameplay is really clunky for a 3rd person shooter, but manageable. It's a short game too I believe, 6 hours or so, which means I won't deviate too much from metal gear or dragon's dogma.
