Oh, you should have played the Bring Down the Sky DLC but if you like the games as much as I do then this is only your first playthrough lol. That's the only ME1 DLC that's worth playing ( it's free too I believe ) and the story choices pop up later like all choices in the Mass Effect games. The DLCs are much more important in 2 and 3 so make sure you get those.

You at least need to play once as the male Shepard and once as the female Shepard since that will change things up a bit and both actors are excellent. I would even say that Jennifer Hale who's the female Shepard voice actor does a better job.

My typical choices in the first game.

Save Wrex. Wrex is awesome!
Kaiden dies.
Male Shep romances Ashley, Female Shep romances Liara.
Save the Council and support Anderson as the new member.
I always play as a Paragon as well.

If you liked Mass Effect then you will LOVE Mass Effect 2. There's a reason it's very often called the best game ever made. I think I've played all 3 games either 5 or 6 times all the way through.

How did you like the beginning of Mass Effect 2?

That first half hour is never easy no matter how many times I play. Those feels when you get spaced. 😱

Yes it is.

The Mechanist DLC has been pretty good so far. The robots you can craft are awesome.

Haha, I will.

Like I said, I have played Mass Effect 2 twice before (almost to the end both times before the hard drive failure), without playing the first game, and even then I felt the feels during the opening moments. Of course, I couldn't understand a thing that the Illusive man and Miranda were talking about in the very beginning.

Now that I'm going in the right order, the emotions are running much stronger! lol
Before going to the Normandy's cockpit to talk to Joker, the whole hull of the ship is just tore down and you could see space, and at that moment everything just goes silent and you can only hear your own breathing, which made me awe struck. I can't believe this was the same Normandy I used to fly with! Oh, and as Shepard drifts off with no oxygen, it hit me again. What a start!

Since you guys insist, I may try and play the Bring Down the Sky DLC. Pinnacle Station was not well received, so I might skip it.

Bring Down The Sky adds the best bio amps and omni-tools that you can get in the game.

I remember now that you had played ME2 before. I bet everything makes a lot more sense now!

Mass Effect is a great trilogy despite the ME3's original ending.

Of the three games, I would say ME2 is probably my favorite. It had the most DLC and it was a nice compromise between RPG and 3rd person shooter. The trilogy started as a RPG but ended as a 3rd person shooter. ME2 was also the most challenging of the 3 games when playing on Insanity. From what I recall the Praetorians were extremely challenging for me to defeat. I don't recall if ME1 had Insanity mode. Insanity in ME3 was a bit too easy in my opinion.

I played all three games multiple times with ME2 as the one I played the most out of the trilogy. I thought that both Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale performed equally well in the first game. However, for the other two games I thought Jennifer Hale's performance was superior to Mark Meer's performance.

My favorite class for all three games was the Adept class. Except for a few specific instances in each of the games I didn't bother to use a weapon.

Pinnacle Station was the only DLC in the entire series that I did not bother to play. ME3 did have a combat simulator but it was just a tiny feature of the Citadel DLC.

And....... all this talk about Mass Effect made me.......start playing Mass Effect again 😛 Just finished dealing with that little Rachni problem on Noveria.

Also playing LIfe is Strange. Pretty good but I have to be in the mood for it.

Still waiting on the big DLCs for Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3. I played the main line of the new Mechanist DLC for FO4 and it's pretty good. You can build some amazing robots.

Haha, I can't get my hands off of Mass Effect 2. I'm having so much fun with it. The film grain effect is done a whole lot better here than how it was in the first game. Graphics are still great despite the age.
I thought I'd miss driving around on the Mako but turns out, the probing planets mini game is a lot better and more fun.
Not sure what I feel about the lack of specific weapons in ME2, though. But the upgrade system does the job good enough.

I think I like thermal clips scheme with the weapons in this game. The unlimited ammo thing about the first game, made me a lot more carefree than I imagined, but now with the limited thermal clips, I've become a lot more cautious. My favorite is the heavy pistol. It does the job most of the time. When I get overwhelmed I might switch to a heavy weapon/ assault/ shotgun.

I'm still building my team, even though I had the choice of going straight into the last battle (I think?). I've still got Tali to recruit. But there's still a space for one more. Who could that be?
I hope it's not Alenko, because I'm starting to regret not saving Ashley in the first game. I also regret not saving the council.
Seems like humans are getting a lot of hate for that.
Oh, and the part where I learnt that the Collectors are actually Protheans controlled by the reapers, it kind of gave the chills.

I hope you got all the DLC. :)

Recruit all the companions. Do all their loyalty missions.
Even then you have to know exactly what to do to get the best possible ending to carry over to Mass Effect 3.

Yeah, I did get them all.

I'm confused as to which one I should start with. I did Arrival first, and now that I've finished it, I'm reading that you should do it after the suicide mission? I'm not sure what that means.

I also decided I'd try out the first game's DLC 'Bring Down the Sky'. Unfortunately, I don't have a save file before going into the last mission, so I have to do all the introduction again. I completed Eden Prime, but then I remembered I can't leave the Citadel yet. I suppose I'll do it later.

Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker in particular are loosely meant to be played after you complete the last mission in the main game. I always do them before that though.

I guess the answer is not what are the titles of my favourite computer games, but the qualities I seek in games in general. For me this is something between freedom and world that makes sense. GTA series is a world in which there's a lot of freedom and a lot of sense - you know what yoiu can do, and what the plot is, but still you can have a lot of fun my stepping out of the line. But on the other hand, the Morrowind was a world with a lot of geographical possibilites and also in terms of customization the equipment, but without some mechanism that keep the sense in the world, you could have just get immersed in a labirynth of unnecessary and senseless details and the fun was over. Still I am waiting for a game that wouold combine these two factors. I am writing about games a bit old, since they shaped my understanding of what I want from gaming - no game since has changed it.

If anyone's got Quantum Break on PC, please post some screenshots, or even better, a short video clip or two. I can't seem to find anything on Google that shows it's image quality on PC.

Speaking of GTA, has anyone seen that Steven Ogg (Trevor Philips), after playing a bit part in Better Call Saul, is now playing one of the Savior cult thugs on The Walking Dead?

I watch The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul is one of the better shows on TV but I've only played the first few GTA games and never for long so I don't recognize him from there. No Quantum Break either.

Just finished Mass Effect and started ME2. Again. 😛

Trevor Philips is the most animated character in GTA V, and has the funniest lines.

Mass Effect takes about 22 hours. Mass Effect 2 takes closer to 35 hours ( with all the DLC ) so I've got a lot of catching up to do! lol

Well, I've completed all the DLCs now. Favourites were Project Overlord, Lair of the shadow broker and Arrival. The hammerhead missions weren't that fun...
The Normandy crash site DLC was okay. It succeeded in giving me the feels.
