Not much effort was put into Zaeed, you could tell. Kasumi was much more complete as a companion and her loyalty mission was better. She's funny to talk to on the Normandy as well.

I've completed Mass Effect 2. I'm clocked in at 41 hours. After I read some of the guides online, I understood that there were several possible endings. Of course, I didn't check them before attempting the suicide mission.

-All of my crew except Mordin, survived. (I read later on the guide that I was supposed to escort back Dr.Chakwas and Kelly and other crew members with Mordin leading them. I chose Zaeed instead. So I guess that's why he died...
I was not sure whom to send. I thought my rescued crew would face collectors on their way to the Normandy, so I decided I'd leave them in Zaeed's hands. I never knew of the defense stats that each squad member held. I never knew Mordin had the least either, but I guess that was a little obvious.)

-Shepard is alive

-Let Cerberus have the collector base. ( I thought a lot about this and decided I'll let the Illusive man have this one. I knew it was a renegade option, but I decided it could help me out in the next game. I really hope it does...

Regarding the game, it was really fun. It's definitely better than the first game, has more choices involved as well. The story was mesmerizing and combat was really fun, although it became pretty easy by the end of it. I played on Normal difficulty.
It is one of the best rpg games I've played.

Now I'm about to start Mass Effect 3.

If you do everything right:

Everyone lives and everyone shows up in ME3 to help you. Mordin has an especially crucial part to play in the final game, although he will be replaced with someone generic if he died in ME2 I suppose.

You also have to do the loyalty missions in the right order in ME2 or you risk Jack and Miranda and Tali and Legion's arguments causing them to lose loyalty if your Paragon/Renegade scores aren't high enough when they have their arguments on the Normandy. So you should save one of each pair's missions for last before the suicide mission. I always do Jack and Legion last.

Also in ME2 you can romance Tali. Best part of the games :)

Oh wow. I never knew of having to follow a certain order.

Wow. I didn't think he'd have much impact. That's not reassuring...
Ah, that's okay. I'm happy I got 11 of my squad members back alive. I'm not going to change it by playing the suicide mission again, at least not yet. For now, I want to keep it as raw as possible. I mean, I want to proceed with the decisions I made at the heat of the moment. I'll face the consequences if I have to.

I did the loyalty missions as soon as they popped up. The last recruitment I made was Kasumi and I did hers last.

Haha. I almost romanced Tali and Miranda, unexpectedly. I was just trying to talk with them, but it led to the romance conversations and I had to turn them down.
My Shepard has eyes only for Liara. Hehe. But I'm a bit surprised that it came up as 'Romanced no one in ME2' during import of saves to ME3. I invited her to the cabin at the end of the lair of the shadow broker and I remember a sort of romantic cutscene.

I've started ME3 now, only 20 minutes in or so. Gamepaly has a few changes and it looks better, at least right now it does. I've got all the DLC too.
I've heard the ME3 ending received a lot of backlash among fans. Does the DLC fix this?

I love Mass Effect 3. It might be my favorite of the series. Don't even stress about the ending and all the talk you hear about it. Play it and decide for yourself.

Don't do the Citadel DLC until last, right before the final mission. You will see why when you get to it. In my opinion it's the best DLC of any game I've ever played.

You will want to do From Ashes as early as you can. The other DLC can be done in any order.

I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do. :)

you guys got me wanting to play the original Mass Effect again. i went through 2 again right before 3 was released to rehash the story but it's been a long time since playing 1. dug out my old DVDs and have added it to my long queue of games.
i played 3 once without ending DLC and once with it. i felt the original ending was much better. it made much more sense, had much more emotional impact, and was a much more entertaining conclusion. the DLC optional endings are indeed "optional" but seeing the new options there in the endgame dialogue made the original idea seem to have less meaning/impact on me.
as far as i saw it the original end was just too difficult to understand for a lot of people and a lot of others were just heartbroken to have
Sheperd gone again.
they shouldn't have ever made that DLC in my opinion.

I'm looking for a video game recommendation. A little bit about what I play, I like RTS games, FPS games (mostly set in modern or WWII era, no future stuff). I'm looking for something preferably $30 and under on Steam. Anybody know of a good game?

if you really like competitive online only shooters.

what franchises have you played and enjoyed? gaming on PC or console; what CPU/GPU are you using? there is so much available to choose from in terms of genre, release dates, etc.
Crysis 1 is still one of the funnest FPS in my opinion and the maps & missions give you a bit of tactical freedom that most shooters don't offer.

Agreed. The first Crysis and Crysis Warhead are great games. Crysis 2 is pretty good as well and Crysis 3 is one of the best looking and least fun games I've ever played. Amazing graphics but I just didn't care about the story.

Oh, I just saw this thread!

Let's answer some:

What game have you been playing recently?

Guild Wars 2, American Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator, DiRT3 (non-GFWL / Complete Edition), GRID2, Assetto Corsa and Rocket League!

How did you find the experience of playing said game?

Guild Wars 2 is just a game that keeps on giving. Currently I started working in the Super Adventure Box Achievements. The ones that I have left are all Tribulation modes for the Worlds xP!

ATS and ETS2 are driving games of the "trucker" kind. Anyone familiar with 18WoS: Pedal to the metal? Well, these two are from the same dev: SCS and they are quite fun. Spoiler alert: you drive a truck. Hahaha.

DiRT3 and GRID2 are well known, so nothing much to say here.

Assetto Corsa is a great driving Simulator. Easily the hardest I have encountered so far.

Rocket League is also well known and does not need explanation. I would classify myself as a decent player and love playing it to blow and generate some steam, haha.

Any games you looking forward to?

I don't have any games on the horizon that I want to play to be honest, but I'd say I am looking forward to the Living Story in Guild Wars 2 and the upcoming DLCs for ETS2 and ATS.

Why are you looking at those games?

Cause they are fun! Plus, having a G27 + racing seat makes wonders for having fun with driving games/sims.

Cheers!

Any Valve game.. someone? g-guys?

Some good online games are
-CS:GO (I have like 1100 hours lol)
-Other CS games
-TF2
-Dota2
there may be other that I cant remember right now

Single player
-L4D series
-Counter-Strike Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes (my childhood right here D: )
-Portal series
-Half life series (definitely something I cannot skip (childhood here too )
etc.
I've played all these games TF2 is the only one that I didn't like that much, thou it has a loooot of positive feedback
Ahhh valve.. my beloved walletsucking corporation 😀

We don't talk about Valve until Half Life 3. Bad Valve, bad! 😀 ( Half Life 2 and its expansion episodes are among my favorite games ever 😉 )

I don't like driving simulators. I have to drive enough in everyday life that I just don't find it fun to relax by driving more. And I like to drive.

One day. This generation? I need to see more evidence and go try it out somewhere to be sure but probably not yet.

I am planning on getting the HTC Vive, but once the supply issue is actually fixed... And they go on sale, haha.

I know ATS and ETS2 have non-official VR support, so I know that I will enjoy it from day 1, lol.

Cheers!

I want to try out VR. I believe in the hype and I really think there is a much richer experience playing a game that way.
But it's just so expensive right now. I'll definitely buy one but that's gonna be a while. I want to try it out somehow though. I reckon there will be some try outs at shopping malls when Playstation VR comes out. I'm going to have to wait till then.

Been getting into Dark Souls 3 the passed couple nights.
It is very addicting just like the previous games. I would still have to say that Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition is the best game of the series but 2: SotFS & 3 are great games and still offer lots of fun crazy action and awesome characters. Keep thinking I'm going to fix up an emulator to go through Demon Souls one of these years.
3 hasn't been updated visually as much as I hoped it would. It very much resembles 2 graphically, maybe with some very slightly enhanced lighting and physics. Shading, textures, hair all seem the same. Optimized pretty well; 1440p with highest settings and some AMD Crimson enhancements and it sits right at 60fps 99.9% of the time.

It's drawn me away from my new playthrough of Fallout 4 and that's saying something. And just when I got the Wasteland Workshop too, it may have to wait for Far Harbor now. And now Blood & Wine will be soon for The Witcher 3 too. I never thought I would get frustrated with too little time to play all the awesome games out there. It used to be most of my time gaming was spent replaying the same games over and over waiting months for a new release.

I started doing the DLCs first. I didn't know they were the DLC missions, but I did them anyway. I'm digging it so far. I'm about 15 hours in.

I helped Aria to retake Omega. It was a fairly long mission but it was enjoyable. Now I'm currently on the hunt for some Dr. Garneu, regarding the leviathan. I did some occasional side quests on the Citadel too, and as it has a part of the DLC to it, I've got like dozens of quests opening up whenever I decided to listen in on conversations. I'm having a hard time keeping track. lol

I have to say though, ME3 is a lot more dark compared to the first and ME2. I have this depressing and sad feeling when I'm playing. Even the Normandy gives out a different atmosphere entirely. I really feel the damage the reapers are doing, how dangerous they are and potentially, how the galaxy could be wiped out all over again.
