The expansion is hard. Seems like I was level 36 or so before I started those quest lines in Hearts of Stone and it still wasn't easy in places. It was an awesome DLC though. I really love the game but I don't know if I'll ever play it from the start again as the first 30+ hours just feel like grinding away and accomplishing nothing.

Oh good. I thought my gaming skills were diminishing.

Hearts of stone-
I beat the Frog prince on my third try. I didn't know why, but the game felt a lot more unresponsive than it used to. Turns out anti aliasing was on. Game felt much better with it turned off.

Yeah, I don't see myself playing this game all over again from the start any time soon either. For me, it's the sheer length. I didn't feel it being a chore to play during the early hours. I thought the story played out well from start to finish. One of my biggest gripe with the game was how they gave you gear, as if it was forged by the gods and was in the family for centuries, and yet their stats spoke otherwise. Lol.

Mad Max. I feel this is really Avalanche's masterpiece now. Everything they learnt in Just Cause 1,2 and (presumably, although I have not played it yet) 3, has come through good for them with Mad Max. It also helped having the director of the Mad Max series involved. Some of the areas in it are just SPOOKY when it comes to atmosphere !

So disappointed with Total War: Warhammer, most dumbed down in the series to date; complete stripping of tactical strategy combined with arcadey sieges make this the least grey cell involved game in the series to date. At this rate MTW3 battles will play themselves. On the other hand have been having a blast with the EB II mod for MTW2. Lot of depth, detail, and strategy at the strategic and tactical levels.

Agreed, it bordered on a horror game at times, and the map variety they crammed into a desert landscape was the most surprising to me.

That said, I feel they're letting Just Cause stagnate though.

This is amazing.

Has anyone else tried the blood and wine expansion of the witcher 3? I've been playing it and i found it amazing, that expansion alone is easily worth what i paid for the season pass.

I haven't started it yet but I have no doubt it's great. I finally got modding Skyrim figured out and I'm blown away by how good it is. With the Realvision ENB and some character replacement mods it's really close to The Witcher 3 in looks.

Blood and Wine is next on my list. I finished Hearts of Stone and I really liked it. Took me around 10 hours to complete. This is really what DLCs should be. I'm hearing Blood and Wine is even better and much bigger too, so I'm looking forward to it.

The map they added is a little bigger than white orchard, but it's filled with quests, i have like 15 secondary misions right now on the quest tab, not counting the witcher contratcs.

I've been playing Ashes of Singularity, which definitely is high up on my favorite RTS games.

I was still patiently waiting. Must've missed the announcement they were out of early access.

In my opinion fully modded Skyrim gives The Witcher 3 a run for its money as far as looks goes.

do you use a controller for your PC? you see... im new to, like, all of this. i was big into PC gaming maybe 10 years ago and then I upgraded myself to the playstation.... i actually JUST got a new PC for a little over 700.... 6th gen intel core i5 intel with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU... im trying to figure out all of this, and then I came across this forum!!

only thing is, I don't see a place for newbies to kind of figure their way out.. is there a section in this forum for beginners? I want to learn how to build computers but I am mostly concerned with PC gaming... I own skyrim for xbox 360 and neve even thought of playing it PC before until now!

No controller, I'm mouse and keyboard all the way and have been since the mid 90s when I started gaming on a PC.

We don't have a beginners section as such but this is the gaming section and any questions you might have just start a thread in here and ask. Tom's may not even be the best place to ask depending on what you are trying to do. Steam has very good forums for the games they carry ( most of them ) and most popular games have whole websites devoted to them. Just as an example Skyrim ( and the other Bethesda games that support mods ) have huge online resources devoted to them. It can be hard figuring out where to start though and Tom's is a great place to get you on the right track. :)

I've been keyboard and mouse all my life too until now. Some games really do feel better with a controller. I'm currently playing through AC Unity, and I found playing with a controller (although I'm not good with it) to be more fun and the controls seem more responsive for some reason than when I'm using the keyboard and mouse. Besides, the game has a mouse smoothing effect which is terrible since it can't be disabled.

Generally, you can play most third person games on a controller, provided they don't involve too much shooting elements, and they'd feel better. I tried using the controller for the Witcher 3, and it too feels nice, but I'm getting overwhelmed in combat. It could be my inexperience with a controller as I can't rotate the camera and perform a swing or dodge or roll at the same time.

Regarding AC Unity, I'm only about 6 hours in and I'm really liking it. The game was panned for it's bugs and glitches and no one cared how beautiful the game looked. The gameplay is wonderful too. I've had one game breaking bug, where I fell down the floor indefinitely leading to my player's death, I didn't encounter many others. The story is okay at best, up to where I've played. And the cut scenes are absolutely gorgeous! Better than any game I've played till date. The animations are incredibly smooth.

I'm playing Syndicate right now. I have Unity waiting to be played, too. Syndicate fighting is top-notch.
