I've installed 'The Crew'. It's fun playing with friends. I've got 2 others who play it with me. I've perhaps only played around 5 or 6 hours so far. The driving is nice. Collision is kinda disappointing though. The graphics look nice and the map is fairly large. I look forward to playing it more.
 
So I'm trying really hard not to spoil anything since I got Breath of the Wild. I gotta say, I haven't picked up a Zelda game in years and in my mind, it was totally worth it buying it opening weekend. Between me and my partner we've gotten almost 60 hours since release.
 
I played all the old Zelda games on the NES and SNES and I bought a Wii for the kids about 10 years ago and I really enjoyed the Zelda game that came with it. I'd just never use a Nintendo enough to justify buying one for a single game though. Although I've half talked myself into buying a Playstation for The Last of Us 2. :lol:

 
Right at 80 hours into Inquisition and wow. I feel like I've explored about half of the game or maybe even less. It's really got a Witcher 3 feel to it. Well I should say The Witcher 3 has a real Inquisition feel since Inquisition came out first. In fact I remember reading an article to that effect last year when I was playing TW3. Two completely different development teams working from different source material come up with some strikingly similar concepts.


Oh yeah and they're going to tease me by letting me preload Andromeda Friday. It won't unlock until Tuesday though. :fou:
 
We've been commenting on it at TPU too. It's not just the animations being bad in MEA, the faces look horrible, especially Sara Ryder. She doesn't look anything like Jayde Rossi, which is whom she was modeled from.

If you ask me, the one in game looks like one of Joker's twisted chicks. I doubt the game will be open to reskin mods either, especially since they're working with Frostbite instead of UE now.
 
I saw some of the clips and streams from reviewers on Andromeda. My thoughts is that the development team just didn't get enough time to tweak out a lot of the visual/gameplay inconsistencies. I don't have a huge desire to pick up the game (because you can pry Shepard from my cold, dead hands) but I might get it when it goes on sale at Christmas.
 
I saw a video review. It's got a lot of graphical glitches and bugs. It's very easy to spot them. It lacks polish. The animations are still wonky as ever. Most reviews point out the narrative being a let down, which is disappointing for me. I'll still play it but I'm refraining from doing so any time soon.
 


Wasn't really a surprise. The original writers started leaving Bioware just before the launch of Mass Effect 3. So did most of the core Bioware team afterwards.
 


The only reason the reviews are OK is the gameplay somewhat makes up for the horrible modeling, animations, and dialog. In those areas it seriously lacks the polish the past games had, and the characters were more interesting too.

I'm at 85 hours in Inquisition and still loving it. I'm in the middle of about a week where I haven't had a chance to play anything so I have to decide on finishing Inquisition or starting Andromeda when I get home Wednesday. I'll probably finish Inquisition. I really wasn't expecting it to be such a long game but I'm certainly not disappointed that it is.
 
Funny, I read the same review an hour and a half ago. It actually makes me less likely to play it. I had a mixed reaction to Inquisition, which I discussed earlier. I know Origin All-Access got you the first 5 or 10 hours of the game; now that the embargo is over does it give you full access to the game? That's probably the only way I'd get it at this point. Otherwise, I'll probably wait for a sale.
 
I just started playing Xenoblade Chronicles X using CEMU emulator. So far only 3 hours in but I already hooked up. I'm a sucker for this kind of Open World RPG, I just loved it.
 
I've been playing some old games for now. I played through 'The testament of Sherlock Holmes'. I became a fan of the series since 'Crimes and Punishments' released in 2014. Testament is from 2012 and I also played through 'The Devil's Daughter'. I enjoyed them all.

I started 'Vampire the masquerade: bloodlines' yesterday. I need to get some getting used to with the controls and combat but I'm digging the lore. It's got better facial animation than Andromeda does! Lol. The voice acting seems really good too. I've only played through the fairly long tutorial as of now.
 
I just, as in a few hours ago finished the main questline in Inquisition. It took around 130 hours and I didn't even come close to completing all the side quests. There are probably another 50-70 hours of content in the game. I really enjoyed it. I've still got the last Inquisition DLC ( set 2 years after the main game's end ) to do and I expect at least 10 hours there. Then I can finally start Andromeda. I was kinda hoping for a big Andromeda patch to fix some of those crappy animations. Inquisition uses the same engine as Andromeda and Inquisition looks really good.
 
Do I need to play the older dragon age games before I play Inquisition? I might think about giving it a go later.

I just realized there are no quest markers in 'Vampire: The masquerade - bloodlines' (I'll just refer it as VTMB from now on). That's quite neat and I don't think I've played an RPG that had no quest markers before. It feels more rewarding knowing where you're supposed to go and what you are supposed to do rather than have something mark it down for you.
 
Much like with The Witcher 3 it helps to have the backstory. I didn't play any Witcher games except 3 so I didn't have any emotional investment in the series but I was still able to love that game. I'd played the other Dragon Age games and loved the world so that probably made me love Inquisition even more.

The events across Dragon Age games are kind of like with Mass Effect. Who lives and dies in the series carries over even though unlike with Mass Effect the Dragon Age games have different main heroes. Many of the very cool supporting characters carry over across games though.

So yes you can enjoy it without playing the other 2 but you would like it more with the backstory. I'd at least recommend trying Origins before delving into Inquisition.
 
I played DA:I having played Origins and skipping DA2. The lore is all there from Origin, but of course I didn't recognize any of the characters from DA2. I think having played Origins will make familiar with the lore and the world, but knowing individual character's backstories won't have much impact. Like anort3, I'd recommend at least playing Origins. I think it's available dirt cheap on EA Origin.

VTMB is one of the best roleplaying games of its era. You'll love it, especially if you dig vampire or horror games, or just RPGs in general. Watch out for bugs, though; I'd recommend getting the unofficial, fan-made patch as well as the widescreen patch.
