It might take a few days but I'll be glad to give it a shot. I've managed about 5 hours of gaming this month total but I should be back to my usual couple of hours a day here soon.

For all you Tomb Raider fans, I just got wind of a project where someone is doing a PC remake of Tomb Raider II in Unreal Engine 4, and it looks fantastic. The graphics look better than Anniversary and as good if not better than Underworld.

There's only a finished demo so far and the first cave of the Great Wall level, but this is a fantastic project with a lot of people working on it and testing it. It got so much DL activity they had to put up several alternative links. I couldn't even DL it until going to the 5th link.

Anyone try out Secret World Legends? This game has kept me busy this summer. Great story line. The cut scenes are so well done and I have never had much patience for them in the past. The improvements over previous Secret World are noticeable. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I want to try out the old Tomb Raider games. I wasn't aware there were remade games of the original.
This one with the Unreal Engine looks fantastic too.

I've played about 40 hours of PUBG. Me and my buddies won 2 matches in squad mode. It was such a rewarding experience. It's really hard to win matches in this game.

I've also been playing >observer_ on the side. I love the atmosphere. It's a walking sim type game with horror elements in it. It's more disturbing and creepy than it is scary. You can go inside someone's head and experience their memories in a pretty bizarre but brilliantly executed fashion.

Yeah and the nice thing is, besides looking fantastic, the gameplay is much more realistic. They don't make usable ledges look obvious like in the later games, which also makes it look more immersive. It can take some time to figure out the path, but it's more rewarding once you do.

Enemies are also more fierce, and Lara's acrobatic moves not as exaggerated. It means you have to take tigers, and even spiders, very serious, and plan your strategy well. Granted I went straight to Hard mode, but I died many times. I kinda took it for granted based on past games.

Anniversary has been my fave TR title for a long time, and probably the hardest of the later titles, but this one could easily take it's spot if I ever get a chance to play the whole thing with the UE4 makeover. That's how good it is.

OK so here is my contribution in all the wonderful answers.
The games that i like are quite different from the rest that are mention. Actually i prefer a game that has a strong story , not all bombing and action but an indulging story. I will make the list from all the genres that i know about or has played.
Castlevania Lord of shadows is one of my favourite, it includes all the elements and emotions in a game. It has good action mechanics, a really appealing and intriguing story, the characters are awesome, their voice overs are absolutely fantastic, the mythical touch , love, family matters ,vengeance etc etc.. it involves everything and i guess it the most decent game ever made that involves werewolves, draculas and other mythical creatures that are quite appealing to most population of people. I admit the part 2 of this game was boring but i still hope that they make another part which would be as awesome as this one.

The next game that i love is prince of persia a warrior within. It was a very good game and perhaps the best of the franchise as far as i deduce. The story, the time travelling, the cenimatics , multiple endings, action sequences were all really good.

As for the zombie third person shooter, the best of best is resident evil 4: biohazard. I seriously fell in love with the franchise when i played this game. Man oh man what a gameplay, what an environment they made and the player felt so engaged in the game that it felt like becoming the part of that environment. None of the former or latter parts of the series matched the appeal of this one.Leon kicking and slicing to rescue the daughter of the president and facing mysteries and deadly traps, a mysterious young lady that helps us and the later on , became a main character, phew, this game was so amazing.

A horror first person game named fear was also a good game. I remember playing it , again this game had the horrific atmosphere and the players failing to rescue each person they meet , it was a great game. Although i didnt liked the ending :/

As for the strategic games that i played, i think commandos was the best. Many of you will disagree and will say that dota is the best, i totally agree but they makers of commandos set the table for the formers to come, so lets give them a bit of credit.

Racing games i have never been a fan of , as i think that what i can do in real life, i shouldnt be wasting time by doing it virtually 😀

As for first person shooter, i think that mw3 waas the best ever, very good story and very good graphics and an awesome ending.

The games that i mentioned are entirely based on my opinion and many of the readers will disagree and i respect their opinions too.
cheers

LOL, you don't want to say something like that on a Resident Evil forum, because they'd insist RE4 is more about action than horror or story. Thankfully most here are less combative.

I still feel RE4 is the best RE yet, so no, you're tastes aren't as different as you might think. In fact that is more of a general consensus than anything.

Granted they're to some degree getting back to basics with RE7, but even it needs a lot of work. I enjoyed the 3 boss fights, and the attic fight with Mia, but most of the monsters are too easy to fight, avoid, or run right past. I also felt Lucas should have had his own boss fight instead of the lame game he plays with you.

To me, RE7 is more of an experiment with redneck comedy than a true horror experience.

About RE4,i mentioned about the environment and gameplay. I agree that story was pretty much simple and plain.. And i did'nt played RE7 so i cant say anything 😀

Yeah they've yet to do anything as creative in level design, and the creature design was also very good and diverse in RE4. I also felt it had the most immersive background music of any RE.

Anyway, just finished ME:A. Very disappointing game. Most quests are too short and easy. Difficulty doesn't scale well enough with skill buffs. Too many quests feel the same. Too many creatures are reskinned and given more HP (big gorilla-like creature becomes blue, then boney). Plus even some of the most important missions just feel short and rushed, including the final one. I never once had to use augmentations or special mods when developing things, and mostly just scavenged all my weapons and armor. I had over 130,000 credits and tons of resources left over that I didn't need to use. The Nomad and Architects were fun, but not enough to carry the game. They need to take the time off away from ME and decide whether they want to be serious about it.

Just started playing Titanfall 2 a couple nights ago and already finished the short campaign. I have to say it was better than I expected though. They made the Source engine look pretty good indoors, but outdoors a lot of scenes look too plain and blurry. Titan weapons were creative and fun, and even on Normal difficulty some parts were pretty challenging, like the boss fight with Viper. I'm sure a lot of people were wondering why they used the Source engine, which is pretty old now, but it likely had a lot to do with trying to keep frame rate manageable during mass Titan fights. The maps are pretty big too.

Yeah titanfall is a good franchise too. My opinion about titanfall series is the same as yours

I've been playing a TON of "Heroes of the Storm" as of late, though WoW will always be my "go to" feel good game. Looking forward to the PC release of Destiny 2 this coming October :)

i love assassin's creed syndicate the graphics quality is amazing every thing looks very real and the depiction of Victorian era london it's just outstanding.

I have been playing Euro Truck Simulator 2. I have over 300 hours and I am loving it. It's a great single player and multiplayer game. It's when you are your own truck driver and you can experience what a real truck driver goes through etc. You can buys, upgrade your trucks as well hire/fire drivers.

Yeah indeed. I am only up for PVP now, missed the beta part.

this is terrible news. got a bunch of dumbass bad apples talking crap for the first couple months about how terrible the game was, 90+% of them stating just because there was no Shepard, and somehow the great game gets totally blacklisted by their development teams.
i thought it was a great experience with 100+ hours. and that's comparing it to a lot of other very recent awesome games. we need at least another 30 hours of DLC...

was an EVGA 1070 SC.

the Beyond content does look like it will be an awesome addition.

i replayed Morrowind & Oblivion in 3D through TriDef just a couple years ago. that was awesome with even just a few graphical, gameplay, and content MODs.

for non-native 3D games; those older, flatter, less detailed games handle 3D conversion much better than modern titles. i will be keeping either my old LG Cinema3D monitor or a 3D TV around forever now due to this. makes so many old games so much more playable again.

After seeing some Twitch streamers/youtubers play War of the Chosen I am back at XCOM2 (vanilla).
I stole some tactics from them and I am doing a lot better this time around.

Long war 2 after this maybe?

I was never really a horror/action sort of pc game fan, but I've recently started playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and it has an amazing story and the action is also amazing. I haven't played it much yet, I am more of a racing simulators fan than anything else, but the little I played of it was enough to tell it's simply amazing overall.

Have you guys tried it yet? What did you think of it?

Yeah I played Ground Zeroes and TPP. Both are very good and I'd have to say TPP probably has the best prologue I've ever seen. The only bad takeaway from MGSV for me was too much repetition. You end up doing a lot of repeat missions with changed objectives/restrictions in Chapter 2.

I just got around to playing RAGE. It was decent and I enjoyed it. That being said it could have been WAY better. It almost felt unfinished and the largish game world was mostly empty. It's worth picking up on sale though.
