I could hear whine in headphones so i got a dac and that pretty much solved the problem, but then i noticed my mic started to act odd - it has a touch button for on/off, and when gpu coils whine i that button just became stuck or turned on/off repeatedly. Then i got another mic(xlr one) and problem is a bit different now, when gpu coild whine i can clearly hear it in the recording, and sound smts falls into void(as if i speak into nth), also sound gets louder and louder with time(but that can be voice recorder itself, i use online one).

Also i tried replacing psu, when i had previous mic, got powerplay gold 750w - didnt help. Tried different mobo - didnt help.

Btw when pc inside case coil whine in recording seemed louder(not 100% sure)

What can be the issue here, and how do i solve it?

Specs:

Ryzen 5 5600

tuf b550m-plus (tried MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX)

gamerock 3070ti

4x8gb 3200mhz cl16 kingston fure

vinga vps gv2 (tried chieftec powerplay gold)

komplete audio 1, behringer sl84c, sony wh1000xm3

Well, you already know the issue:

And solving it is replacing the affected hardware. Namely, replace your Palit GameRock RTX 3070 Ti with another, different version GPU.
U think the issue is with gpu coil whine in general, thus i need to get gpu without coil whine. Or with my gpu in particular? Cuz i tried 3 different gpus - tuf 3070, red dragon 6800xt and gamerock 3070ti. All had coil whine, 6800xt was the loudest, but i dont remember if i had same issue with those 2

One thing that I would recommend is to lock your fps at your monitor's refresh rate. Usually, coil whine is caused by your FPS shooting up to like 500FPS in cinematic cut scenes. Limiting your FPS to your monitor's refresh rate prevents this, is much easier on the GPU itself, mitigates (or eliminates) coil whine and you don't lose any performance.

It's worth a try since it costs nothing and doesn't matter which card you have in your rig at the moment.

There are varying degrees of GPUs of same series from same manufacturer that can make a diff. E.g Asus has Dual, TUF and ROG Strix. MSI has Ventus, Gaming X and Suprim. Gigabyte has Eagle, Gaming and Aorus. Etc.

Buying lesser version of the GPU (to save money) or buying lesser known manufacturer GPU (Palit, Colorful, Galax etc) may come with the side effect of GPU coil whine. Since when you pay less, you could expect coil whine.

I doubt that you'd get coil whine with reputable brand high-end version, like Asus ROG Strix, MSI Gaming X/Suprim or Gigabyte Aorus.

I had a Asus ROG Strix RTX 2060 which had coil whine that would get picked up by my the external DAC on the USB connection. I could hear noise through the speakers and headphones when nothing was playing. The noise went away when I connected to the DAC using Optical connections which is not susceptible to interference.

My new Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4070 does not have this issue. I can connect the DAC using USB and no noise on the speaker or headphones now. I prefer using USB connection as it support higher bitrate.

Based on my experience and research, it's hit and miss whether coil whine is good or bad regardless of brand and model.
