I have just bought a 4TB external seagate expansion drive , when my computer starts up it does not go into BIOS it just freezes.

When I unplug the back-up drive and reboot it all works, the bios pops up and PC goes into Windows fine.

My GA Z77-D3H motherboard seems to not support this external hard drive but it boots ok on my laptop.

I have changed the boot order and turned legacy off.

This never happened with the old back-up drive.

I went into boot device order and disabled all except Samsung SSD and it still freezes so I reverted back to the original boot order.

POST doesn't seem to like the drive for some reason; you can try a different USB hub and see if that helps, it's *possible* the drive is pulling too much power from the hub and causing POST to fail.

On my PC I can't have my backup drive and my USB Blu-Ray plugged in at the same time; causes POST to fail 95% of the time. Might be a similar issue for you.
