Newegg's been out for a while. Nothing on Amazon. Zipzoomfly is out. Tiger Direct is out. Does anyone have any ideas, or just wait a few weeks for supply?

Thanks

Just got a Newegg auto notify on both the 5850 and 5870. I happened to be sitting here when they arrived...went directly to newegg to place order...they were already sold out.

Come on! It was a matter of seconds, and already gone!?!?! Maybe I'll get one before flipping 2010....

lol..anyways, keep looking for them. Newegg is probably not your best chance because of its popularity. The best way to get it is do a Google Product search. It'll show you vendor ratings also, so make sure you buy from someone reliable.

yeah i've been using that some, but i just go through about 4 pages and give up because they are all out of stock lol.

how hard is it to make a graphics card?

I wonder when the prices will start dropping. Glad you got your hands on one, but I got my HIS 5850 for $260 off the egg right before it became a deactivated item about two weeks ago. So a shame about the markup.

Really want to add another in for crossfire.

I got my Sapphire HD5870 today from ExtremePC(Canada). It took a couple of weeks, but at least I got it. :kaola: I will warn you guys though. If you do order from ExtremePC, you may have to wait a bit. They have a pretty big wait list right now. They just got a shipment of 5850's and 5870's in today, and they will be getting another next monday.(According to the forum moderator)

PS: The price has now been adjusted. So it is now higher. My card cost me $430 with shipping and tax, so I was one of the lucky ones.

Has anyone seen a press release or something from ati stating when they'd estimate retailers would have a consistent stock of 5 series cards?

Everyone is still sold out and ebay shows 5850's going for 450 bucks easy....

Just got an asus 5850 off newegg today, but i was watching all day. I know it says the powercolor one is coming instock soon and the diamond one is coming in stock the 23rd, it took me the better part of the last week to track one down so best of luck. Got a message from amazon saying the xfx one would not be in stock before january.

All the 5850s in the market are reference cards, so brand is really not that important. The only reason you would worry about the brand for a reference card is if you ever happen to need their customer service. And as Powercolor goes, I don't have any personal experience, but I haven't heard anything too bad about them.

If you can't wait for one, or don't have time to check the egg for availability it may be worth it. I'm planning on crossfiring mine when the prices drop. Tech depreciates rather rapidly, so it seems rather foolish to pay almost $100 more now than what it was at launch, and what it will be in a few months time.

Well unfortunatley you will have to wait at least till Fermi is released cause to be honest the 5XXX series will not come down in price anytime soon. Not all cards go down in price as time goes by, look at the 200 series, same price for over a year and still no signs of a price drop... You also have to take into consideration that if the 3XX series is not up to par vs. what ATI has to offer, prices will go up, not down....

The 5850 at 350.00$ is priced just right due to most e-tailors are selling them for around 320.00/330.00$ shipped... paying 20 bucks more will not hurt anyone....
