Newegg's been out for a while. Nothing on Amazon. Zipzoomfly is out. Tiger Direct is out. Does anyone have any ideas, or just wait a few weeks for supply?

Thanks

What time does the egg usually update their availability during the day? I heard around 11am and 5pm. or is it just totally random? It freaking sucks trying to get one of these cards, you'd think they would have built up a decent stock of these cards before the street date.

that is a good question..... IDK what the timeframe is for the update but I would not torture myself clicking on the refresh button. The dude off e-bay sold all his 5850's in 6 hours and a few of those went back on e-bay for more. People don't understand the TSMC mess, if you get a 5850 for 350.00 or less (shipped) you are actually getting a good deal.

Just wait until Nvidia releases their cards.

ATI drivers suck, ATI ignores big issues with some compatibility as if it's not a problem, and ATI also doesn't know how to release their cards with enough quantity.

Nvidia is just a better company overall. Stick with them, their drivers and customer service is significantly better and they don't ignore massive issues with driver compatibility.

Personally being a first time builder myself and not having any brand loyalty, I think I'd still go with ATI. Though you (nitro) bring up great points which are extremely important to the end user. I just can't get past the fact that ATI's cards are decimating nvidia's in many facets... And to me, it seems worth waiting for. Atleast for now. Time will tell whether or not it's worth it for me to keep waiting for a 5850, or go Nvidia instead. I think a lot of people are in the same position as myself. Not that fun at the moment :)

nvidia isn't releasing ANY new cards, and since they don't sell video cards to consumers, WTF are you talking about "customer service"?

typical fanboy post. lets keep this thread fanboy-clean please

You might want to take a look at that page again, i see two xfx's on their page for sale.... and seeing as how I just purchased one, you are wrong... 😱

Well when I posted the link they were not listed on the page. Looks like they got a few in stock ATM...

wOw... Deactivated already? the card just came out.... I guess they want to sell the higher clocked models instead...

i guess you got lucky, the higher clocked models are almost 100.00$ more compared to when they came out...the funny thing is, the card that you bought overclocks just as well as the newer overclocked cards... unless I missed something here...

#1 tired of waiting for a card #2 I can always get a second when the price comes down and when a single card becomes "slower"

I paid that much because I wanted a card with low power consumption and great performance, there was no substitute that I found that satisfied me performance wise. So i paid more, oh well thats how it works. I'm happy! I got my card I can continue with my build purchases now.
