thanks in advance.

Seeing as I doubt you live in the US, I would look at boards instead of chipsets. What motherboards are available in your country (I'm assuming India) at a price you can afford 20 of them? I would try to stick to the P35/P45. If these are to expensive, look to the P43. Avoid any G41/31 boards.

Hi i am quite new here so my personal experience is that for intel processors i would take an intel motherboard since 2days i had an intel desktop board d975xbx2 that is not that new but still stable and uptodate so at your place i would take an intel DX48BT2 x48 chipset or a intel DP45SG p45 chipset but before doing that may i ask if you already own the processor? and or what are your other components are you using your pc for gaming ?

Hope i could and i can help you in further

my 1st pc cpu: i7 920 ddr:3gb ddr1333 Gskil Grafik: evga 9800GX2 Ko Mobo: intel dx58so Extreme series Power: Tagan 800Watt

so the P chipsets seems to be the best for 775 socket, can someone explain the diff between P and other chipsets, or link me to some good benchmarks please.

Edit: what manufacture would you recommend, such as Asus, gigabyte,ASRock,EVGA,Intel, which one would be the best choice for P chipset motherboards.

ehm hi i would recommend intel cause that are intel processors and intel mainboards are the best for them i told you waht mainboards i should take
DX48BT2 x48 <-- intel extreme series
DP45SG p45 <-- also extreme series
intel mobos are almost always on top of the benchamrkts i always use intel and i did never have probs with them now i use intel dx58so extreme i7

intel boards suck, for the same money u can get better and more at other brands. best class are asus, gigabyte and msi. also biostar and foxconn have some good boards.
u dont need x48 board cause u only use single 260 gtx. x48 is good only cause of two x16 PCI-E lines for crossfire.

P- chipset (P35 & P45) are the best 775 chipset, best in performance and also overclocking.

not always in most cases but in this case they are most like but the x48 is a bit better performace then p45 and about overclocking it is true that they do not go really hot but you also have to have a bit luck maybe the mainboard you buy does not perform good oc but is p45^^
i am still with that INTEL Mainboards rocks

than you do not know th new dx58so easily overclock you get also a extra fan for northbridge everything is unlocked and asus they do not use the specification of intel just the chipset everything else is from them somehow selfmade thats why their mobos are more send back. either Intel or gigabyte cause gigabyte is using the intel distructin for building their mobos
but if you take a p45 or x48 mobo from intel extreme series you will have pretty much fun

lol. ehm i am just talkding from own expreience with intel cause every other board beside gigabyte did not hold long

sry for maybe writing agressive i did not sleep a few days at all

gn8 and greets laluma22

i also heard that Asus, gigabyte, msi,EVGA and ASRock motherboards are better than intel's, however i could be wrong, please keep this discussion open till i get the best answer.

thanks in advance.

i know that x48 is a good chipset, but that one supports Sli and Crosefire which i dont need, i prefer to get a high end card rather than sli or crosefire.

i just want to know which brand would you recommend for p45/p43/p35 chipset?

I would recommend ASUS's P5Q series.

hi again after a bit of sleeping i am back

so why i am not taking asus is like i thinnk i already wrote is that they do not follow the constuction instructions for motherboards they make everything like they want thats why most of motherboards from asus get back for repair (may not be the case whit your mobo but could) and i do not know why everyone says that intel mainboards are bad they are under the top for performance...
and before we go on talking about whic is the best maybe you tell me what you need so i can give you some options about gigabyte they are also good...

here some mainboards for normal use

1 evga
1.-
EVGA nForce 780i SLI 775 A1 140€ (good one) evga is known for making benchmark world records with their mainboards
2.-EVGA nForce 780i SLI FTW 140€ (good)
the evga have an nvidea sli chhipset

gigabyte: P45

1.-
GigaByte GA-EP45-UD3LR 90€ (good) known for building motherboards like intel said^^

Q45 chipset

2.-
GigaByte GA-EQ45M-S2 (well should be good never tested)^^

intel
p45

1.-Intel DP45SG 120€

hope could help greets

yeah i now but he said he doesnt need all this things and he also mentioned this chipset so i wrote it cause like i said i have not tested it but from some colleges who have they say it is good and enaugh for gaming..

so...i am still saying that because he wants just gaming and nothing else no sly etc
and not to oc so the
Intel DP45SG 120€ or the
gigabyte p45 i meantioned before is the perfect choice for him you can and you will succed while overclocking (not that easy but you can)
