Which CPU

Hi

I am choosing a new pc and have various options:

I mainly do web stuff, download and stream from iplayer etc.
I also like to view and edit photos (photoshop/gimp).
I do some web design and some wordprocessing, excel etc.
I don't do gaming.

Should i go for:
core i3 with 8mb ram and 750gb HDD or 128GB SSD?
Core i5 with 8mb ram and 750gm hdd or 128gb ssd?
or core i7 with 6mg ram and 500mb hdd?

Will the core i7 show any advantage for this kind of use? Or is there no point in that kind of power when you don't do gaming?
Is it worth having SSD or just an expensive waste of time?

I just want a fast boot time and responsive applications...not waiting ages for things to load and sluggish picture editing like on my netbook.

i5 is just fine. No other upgrade I have ever done in 15 years has given me more satisfaction that moving my boot\games\app drive to an SSD. Windows 7 boots in seconds, I strongly reccomend going that way. Go SSD + physical drive for storage.

Here's my vote for the i5 and the SSD. Best move I've made in years also. The i7 would be overkill. The i3 might not cut it depending on the intensity of your editing. The i5 just fits.

Get an i5 2500k, 8GB of RAM, and a 500GB Hard Drive.
