In general though, a faster card is better for any game. But with DX11, another dimension comes into play: tessellation performance. The AMD cards get pummeled by nVidia when it comes to tessellation performance. If you're playing/going to play BF2/BF3 it's something to think about as well.

Not quite, tessellation performance was improved with HD6000, and the 6870 being the more powerful card (generally) actually matches the 460 is tessellation if not being a hair better; besides, tessellation is just a feature of DX11, not its entirety.

Good point. I suddenly remembered the Unreal Engine 3 demo, and remembered that most of the effects there are made possible by DX11.

In my opinion, AMD has the better stack of products right now. Some run faster while using less power (check out trubritar's videos on Youtube).

Too bad that TSMC canceled 32nm and 28 isn't coming out so well. Or we'd have 32nm 69X0s and probably 28nm 7XXX previews already.

For example the sapphire and HIS cards on newegg both receive 5 eggs but the xfx one only earns 4.. just makes me wonder about xfx should i be worried about this or are they all basically the same?

i really wanted the msi gtx 560 ti.. but because of my small dell case i feel like that card would give off to much heat into my system... thats also why im looking at EE cards. i know that card runs cool but i have very poor ventilation so im pretty sure it would make every thing run much hotter.. i have a dell studio 540 MT case
here is a link to what it looks like

What do u think?

^The 560 actually have a better reference cooler than the 6870 and 460, if you can afford it then go for it.

what is the specs for the rest of your system though? If its a E5300 then well, even a 6850 is a little over. Also, check if your PSU can run these as well.
