Hello Everyone

I'm going to build a new gaming PC with MSI GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GAMING X TRIO and I was wondering which monitor should I buy.

I'm looking for a 27" 1440p 144hz g-sync monitor and my budget is around $600 - $800.

I was planning on buying the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q but I thought let me ask the community.

Thank You All.

The top choices last year when I bought mine were that one you picked out and the Acer XB271HU, and I bought the Acer because it was $100 cheaper. I think the Asus has gone down by that much since then. Either way, out of my 3 monitors (1080p 144Hz, 1440p 165Hz, 4K 60Hz) the 1440p 165Hz IPS is by far my favorite. It cost 2-3x as much too.

The only other major thing to note now is that Nvidia GTX 10 and 16 series and RTX 20 series can use FreeSync monitors just like G-Sync. It has to be a good FreeSync monitor though because some of the cheapest ones out there just won't work.

So you can save about $200-300 by getting that same monitor in FreeSync instead of G-Sync. And... you could switch to an AMD GPU and not lose your adaptive...

*Update: G-Sync is still technically better though.
