I have to decide which of these two RAM I should go with. It will be paired with a ROG STRIX B660-A motherboard and a I7-12700K. I will be playing games in 4K, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V, etc..

RAM 1:

It's 3200MHz, CL14-14-14-34 and is listed on my motherboard's qvl list.

RAM 2:
https://www.gskill.com/product/165/166/1597040949/F4-4000C16D-32GTZRA
It's 4000MHz, CL16-16-16-36 and is NOT listed on my motherboard's qvl list.

The 4000MHz kit is quite a bit more expensive than the 3200MHz.

Now, I would like to get the most performance, but I also can't figure out how much I would gain by choosing the 4000MHz over the 3200MHz kit. I'm not into much overclocking (besides enabling XMP). I prefer stability which is why I like the first RAM being on the QVL list, but I also don't want to miss out on a lot of performance as every frame matters a lot when it comes to 4K gaming.

Which of the RAM should I choose?

You should stick with the QVL for peace of mind.

Since DDR3, Asus boards aren't as kind with RAM as before, I still remember the time Asus was my favorite brand for motherboards and I can literally throw any RAM stick on it.
Thank you. Would I lose a lot of performance by going with the 3200MHz kit instead of the 4000MHz kit?

Btw, I was also told to stay away from this kit, as the 3200MHz kit was a lot better. Would you agree with this?

It's 3200MHz and cheaper than the 3200MHz kit.

In this review of the motherboard (like yours), they mentioned the DDR4-3600 and DDR4-4000 being used for the test successfully, you may want to ask the author what memory kit they used there.

I know that both the 3200MHz and the 3600MHz kit is supported.
I've decided to go with one of these:
3200MHz kit: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/168/1536219741/F4-3200C14D-32GTZKW
3600MHz kit: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/168/1536218671/F4-3600C17D-32GTZKW
Timings seems lower on the 3200Mhz kit, but the 3600MHz kit is cheaper. Which one should I go with?
