Yes, an Air cooler will be fine. They also tend to last longer than AIOs. The one in my sig works great, but there are less expensive ones to choose from. The biggest thing to plan is the height of the cooler. For example the one listed above by @ohio_buckeye is 154mm tall -- https://thermalright.com/product/phantom-spirit-120-se/ Your case has to have that amount (or more) of clearance between the top of the CPU and the side panel.
