Hello,

I'd like to get an socket 939, nForce, AGP board.

So, which one is the best?

Is nForce 3 Ultra best s939 AGP chipset?
What about VIA?

Can you recommend brand (beside DFI :) or particular model?

I have been opposed to msi for a few years, long before Pat showed up around here. I listen to what people are saying now about msi, and things haven't changed. You can get lucky, and get a decent mobo. Even the good ones seem to die within a couple of years. More likely though, you will have at least one rma in the warranty period.

Yes, the nForce 3 Ultra is the best Socket 939 AGP chipset. There are lots of good boards for reasonable prices from companies like Chaintech and Epox.

According to rumorville, DFI MIGHT be releasing an nForce3 Ultra Lan Party board in the May/June timeframe. A lot of manufacturers skipped making boards with this chipset, unfortunately. Although there are still plenty of good ones out there now.

Make that 2 votes for the MSI K8N Neo2 (NForce3 Ultra). I've had mine for over 7 months now and I love it.
