Question Whichever game I run, the GPU hits 80 degrees after only 5 minutes ?

Hello everybody.

Recently, except for the GPU, I upgraded my PC:

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B650-PLUS
Ryzen™ 7 7800X3D - 4.2 GHz
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 ti Ventus 2X OC - 8GB GDDR6
RAM: Gskill D5 6000 32GB C30 Ripjaws S5 K2
PSU: Thermalright TG (Modular) White 1000 Watt - 120 mm - ATX 3.0 - 80 Plus Gold certified
Seasonic MagFlow 1-Fan Kit, Ventilator, 12 cm, 600 rpm, 2000 rpm
Case: NZXT S340 Black

I have not upgraded my GPU as i thought it would still be okay.

My problem is, the GPU (no matter what game i play) hits 80 degree after max 5min, I have even undervolted the card to see if it helps, but sadly nothing I thought, Hey, lets try to put more fans in the case to get more airflow buit that did also not help.

Case: NZXT S340 Black
That case was good for it's time but not with hardware for 2024 or a few years prior(think around the times of pre RTX3000 series). You might want to take off the side panels of the case and see if the temps to your GPU drop. If they do, then your case is the issue.

Also did you reinstall the OS after migrating to the Ryzen 7000 series?

I have tried with the sides on and off, does not make much difference

Yes I did a new installation of windows.

How old is the GPU? They need cleaned every 2 to 3 months with canned compressed air or they will overheat. Also, the Ventus 2X has the worst cooling of any MSI card, which makes air flow even more important. You can download and use MSI Afterburner for free and manually increase the fan speed. AMD software may allow this also.

The GPU is about 2 years old, I already have MSI afterburner and have tweaked it a lot, back and forth, Like you say, I clean my fans and the cooler under every few months.
I have also read about the ventus fans beeing very bad, sadly did not know about it before i bought it.
Maybe I just need to buy a new GFX card?
