Why all the heat concerns?

Ever since the 2900XT came out "everyone" has been complaining about heat and noise. Am I the only one who thinks this is stupid? Enthusiast class products come with one thing in mind, PEFORMANCE. If you want to be cool and quiet go and buy an X700PRO. I understand that because the 8800GTX is faster and cooler there is a reason to complain, but come on.

Who wouldn't want top performance without noise and heat. But i guess thats what water cooling is for. I just think the whole "lets rape it because it has heat issues" topic should be directed at the lower/midrange cards. Who buys a Ferrari then bitches about it's mpg
