We have a 100mbps plan and our ISP just upgraded our plan today to 300mbps. The problem is that I noticed my speed didn't change at all and when I asked my sisters husband at the other room connected to the modem says he got 200+mbps currently. Yes, I am using a Cat5e ethernet cable and I am aware that it has a 1000mbps limit.

Is it possible that the ethernet cable I bought was fake chinese product? It looks cheap tho as I bought it for cheap. Or it's just the 3rd port i'm using is limited to 100mbps only? Please let me know if I need to update my network driver or if it has something to do with it.

SPEC:
Ryzen 3 3100
MSI B450M Mortar Max
Kingston Fury Beast 2x8GB (16GB) 3200mhz
Deepcool Gammaxx 400 Pro Dual Fan Aircooler
Kingston NV1 NVMe M.2 500GB SSD
CoolerMaster MWE 550
GPU: GT220 (temporary)
Ethernet Cable: Cat 5e
Current Speedtest: 94mbps up, 94mbps down.

Thanks in advance guys.

Solution
I would agree that the cable is the issue.
It can't support full gigabit speed between your system and the router, and falls back to 100/100.

Cheap cable is...cheap for a reason.
