Why am I getting such low FPS?

Most games I play I am getting terrible FPS on low any ideas?

Here are the specs.



Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

MSI H97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB Superclocked Video Card

Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case

SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Did you try to max all the settings? If you enable MSAA, you'll get a big performance impact. You can try using FXAA instead of MSAA for better performance.

Your build is pretty CPU heavy/gpu light... That being said anything short of max settings should be fine with a 950. What are you considering "low fps"

What version is your driver? Be sure to install the latest driver from GeForce website

are you plugged into the video card or the mother board? sounds like you might be using onboard video.... if not make sure the video card is seated properly... and update the gpu drivers from NVidia.

Got the latest driver update. Got 3 fps in WT

reseat the card.... download(or install) msi afterburner.... run a game or something and see what the gpu clock speed and memory speed are. I think its running on idle the whole time. it has to be.... also try changing the power profile in windows to performance.

your setup is ok, but don't expect ultra settings on heavy hitting games, a 950 is not really a power house

All I need is low/medium and decent FPS

hes getting 3 fps there is obviously an issue, with his rig... not just an upgrade needed.

I installed MSI afterburner and I can't find "gpu clock speed" or "memory speed"

When you open it it should have two circles that look like a speedometer one is core speed other is memory speed. Did you ensure your gpu is firmly in the slot and check the power management settings to make sure they are set to performance?

No circles that I see. GPU is going from 0 to 100

OMG lol wtf happened to that card XD afterburner is not detecting it rma it son that shit is broken.But really check if its seated properly.But that looks broken to me.You can notice it by the framerate it sits at a flat 0 disappears then pops up again not to mention dat gpu usage .Even with rekt drivers and basic display drivers it should be detected.Try another Pci express slot on your motherboard and see if it works and reinstall drivers again.If not rma it.
