I just don't get it, I have my Phenom X3 720 (AM3) running as low as 26.6C at idle, and 38C under load.

BUT WHY IS IT CRASHING!!! Is it my RAM, Voltage, Video Card, What?

It doesn't matter if my multiplier is at 14, or if its at 17 the computer will BSOD or freeze. I have tried using stock voltage, and also tried bumping it to 1.375V and 1.4V.

I am getting the BSOD randomly, even when I just let my computer set for 5 minutes unattended playing music off my Zune I will come back to the BIOS POST screen because my computer froze and BSOD'd? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!

I am using 4GB's of OCZ DDR3 RAM @1333Mhz at 1.9V (Stock) and no matter what my computer will crash within 5 minutes.

I have tried the timings at 7-7-7-24 1T, 8-8-8-24 1T, and the stock of 9CAS? No difference. Just crashed more at 7-7-7-24

I can play Crysis and Fallout 3 just fine (for the most part w/out freezing), but as soon as I let my computer idle for 5-10 minutes while playing music. . . . . BOOM!

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, also tried Vista and XP to no avail? I have updated every driver possible and just don't get it.

Please HELP!

Do I need to bump my RAM or NB voltage? I'm so stumped and will be upset if I just blew $600+

Specs:
Phenom X3 720 BE (AM3)
4GB OCZ DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
ASUS MoBO M4A78T-E 790GX Chip
Radeon 4850
Win 7 64bit
Raidmax 600w PSU

What can I change to make this stable? All I want is 3.4Ghz outta my Phenom and a stable 1333Mhz outta my RAM. Why is that too much to ask lol?

Have you tested your RAM using memtest? I was having similar problems (that it would Blue screen and restart) and it turned out that I had faulty RAM. It was OCZ ram too. Also what error does your blue screen give you, because that could help to diagnose the problem.

Hi, :hello:

I had a random Ram problem, my computer would lock-up & get completely frozen, it would not respond to control/alt/delete, I needed to press the reset button. After I cleared the CMOS and applied this timing of 7-7-7-20, command rate of 2t, and 1.8 volts. I was Stable in Prime95 no more problems to this day

Comment: Hello James,

Try clearing the CMOS and then manually adjusting the memory settings in the BIOS. For this particular kit I recommend using timings of 7-7-7-20, command rate of 2t, and 1.8 volts.

If the problems persist even with these settings try testing each memory stick individually with Memtest. You can download a bootable copy from: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/be_pagegen.php?id=tools

If you find errors with your memory, especially if the errors follow one particular memory stick, your memory is likely faulty and will need replacement with an RMA.
