Question Why can people hear the stuff coming out of my headset even when im muted?

For some reason, all of a sudden my mic sensitivity got very low and people can hear themselves through my mic. If I were to lower it, they wouldnt be able to hear me but barely hear the sounds. All in all they could hear the sounds more than me and if I lowered it they wouldnt be able to hear me. Ontop of my mic having this mute button on the side, sometimes if its loud enough they can still hear it even if im still muted. Please and thankyou.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Make and model mic/headset?

Any recent changes: adapter, extension cable, audio port change?

Right click the small speaker icon normally located in the lower right screen corner.

A menu should appear with some number of menu options. Each menu option leading, in turn, to other windows, tabs, and properties.

Try the troubleshooter first.

Failing that then start checking the other menu choices and their respective configuration settings and properties.

Could be that some update changed a setting....
