Solution
when I plug in my headphones, keyboard, mouse, etc to the ports on the monitor, it does not work.
What monitor model?

For audio ports to work, monitor has to be connected with HDMI or Display Port cable. With VGA or DVI cable there will be no audio.
For USB ports to work, monitor has to be additionally connected with USB uplink cable.
