Hello everyone! So i recently bought an Samsung 850 120GB EVO SSD. I installed a fresh copy of windows and the boot time was fantastic, it took 5 seconds to boot. The benchmark showed that i had somewhere around 510 mb/s of read and around 495-ish of write speed. Then i installed like a 10GB game on the ssd, and it slowed downed a lot. Boot time is now 10 sec and in Samsung Magician, witch i use for benchmarks, read dropped down do 422 mb/s, and the write speed stayed at 495 mb/s. Can anyone help me? I just got the ssd...

Usually SSD'S slow down the more you fill them up. Just be sure not to fill over 3/4 of it. Otherwise you'll shorten its lifespan.

If you want a lightning fast SSD get the 240 GB version or purchase a secondary WD Blue 1TB Hard drive for storing your games and programs. And just use the SSD for the operating system.

Hello, thanks for replying! I downloaded the program taht updates the firmware, and after restarting my pc nothing changes. Boot time is a bit faster but in the Samsung Magician read is about 400 mb/s and the write is 495 mb/s. After the firmware update it takes me to the samsung data migration thingy but i dont really need that. Any solutions?

At least by updating the firmware it has sped the SSD up a bit. If you do the data migration this means you will be moving your data from one hard drive to another or SSD to another SSD. Just ignore that if you don't want to move your data elsewhere. Unfortunately as I said before the SSD will become slower the more you fill it up. Hard drives have a platter inside of them which continues spinning at either 5400RPM or 7200 RPM (which is mine), where with SSD's there are little microchips inside storing your information, the more you fill the SSD's the more you will fill the little microchips.

Out of 120 GB, i have filled 23 gb, i have stored all the games on my secondary hdd. The ssd has been working for like 3 days, and when i installed it at first, Samsung Magician showed the benchmark of 510 mb/s read and now it even dropped to 300 mb/s according to the magician. Is it a bug in the magician?
I recently tried to benchmark the ssd with an other software. I benchmarked it with AS SSD and the results are pretty good. It shows 480 mb/s read and 470 mb/s write speed. It might be a bug in Samsung Magician. Boot time is around 12 sec's.
