This happened 4 months or so ago. I live in country and have frointier, uhhh. I used to have <100 ping. I get bad ping around 3pm-11pm. My router is 6 years old. (can you tell me what router if that is the problem?) I get 200kbs-300kbs a second. I really dont care if it is that slow. If it ends up to be the provider is their another provider? I have tried ethernet too. Should I build a gaming pc with this internet? Frontier says internet is in "high demand" cough* cough* bs. My neighbor has the same problems. Thank you for reading this.

It's most definitely the isp and for modern standards those peek speeds are very low, and if you don't live in a rural area I'm positive there are much better options available. But anyways there are many free tools online to tell you whats available in your area. Good luck

It very well could be demand if your neighbor sees the same problems. This just means the ISP over sold their capacity and you have too many people trying to use it. Maybe you need to go unplug all your neighbors :)

If they actually admit this and do not fix it that pretty much means there is no other ISP you can change to. They have nothing to lose by providing bad service. This is like complaining when you live on a island and one bridge has lots of traffic going to work in the morning

You of course should check around and see if you have any other options. Part of the problem is likely the local government where you live. Many cities rig things so that only 1 cable or phone company can server areas. You could look at cellular broadband but it tends to be expensive compared to any land line connection.
