Question Why do I have high CPU idle temps and low gaming temps on my Ryzen 5 3600x

I noticed that my CPU idle temps where super high as 50-70C (it's fluctuating and not stable) but when I'm gaming, my CPU temps would be about 48-55C

My system is
ROG Strix x570-F
Ryzen 5 3600x
MSI Magcore Liquid 360r
32GB @3200Mhz
RTX 2080

I noticed the problem only happened when I changed my thermal paste from the stock MSI gave to thermal grizzly kryonaut.

Anyone experienced this before with thermal grizzly?

If your temps while gaming are fine there's nothing to worry about. This is normal Ryzen behavior. Your whole CPU isn't going to 70C, that's one core doing the background tasks. All background tasks are concentrated on one core instead of being split among all of them like on Intel.

Ryzens spike in temps while even opening a folder, it's normal.

What are you using to monitor temps, Ryzen Master?

1)Kryonaut needs to be spread lightly over the entire IHS, unlike with most other pastes.
2)Kryonaut degrades faster at higher temperatures: Around 80C and higher.
3)There are fakes in the mix.

Did you spread it properly with the provided spatula?
Did you get a 'Certificate of Origin' in your package?

I'm using speccy, MSI afterburner, and an app called "remote system monitor" for stat display on my phone, they are all the same.

Here is a SS of me idling for about 3 minutes.
The first minute, the temp spiked @70C then went down to 50C

Here is a sample temp when I'm gaming @1440p

It spiked at first, but it didn't reach 70C (unlike when I'm idle)

I'm really guessing I got a bad thermal grizzly but IDK, I already ordered an Arctic Mx-4 since my Ryzen 7 5800x is gonna arrive soon as well.

Yes and
Yes

But I constantly checked my CPU IHS, and noticed that there's always a random part on the CPU IHS that the thermal grizzly doesn't stick to.

I'm not sure if I'm screwing the AIO too tight.

I already ordered an Arctic Mx-4 and see if it changes.

Only use Ryzen Master or HWiNFO to monitor Ryzen temps.

I suggest you just use the MX-4 you already ordered instead.

HELLO JUST AN UPDATE

I have been already using my Ryzen 7 5800x and the arctic MX-4

It wasn't a bad thermal grizzly after all.

It was a freaking malware (forgot the name)
A kind of mining malware where when I'm idle it uses my system to mine bitcoins and such. but when I'm playing, it stops.

I literally wasted 5.5g of thermal grizzly (reapplying over and over) because my dumbass didn't really think it was a malware.
