[SOLVED] Why does my new monitor keep disconnecting ?

I just bought a brand new monitor which I connected to my laptop via HDMI 2.0b and it keeps disconnecting. It works fine and then at times, it disconnects and a black screen appears, then everything works fine again. PLEASE HELP

test the monitor on another working pc or laptop? or test your laptop hdmi with another monitor
