Question Why does my SSD Drive Icon Display like this?

The SSD is not 3 drives. It is 1 drive with 3 partitions. I think this is from ancient times when all hard drives only had 1 partition and there was no ability to partition floppies so the letter was called a "drive letter" rather than a partition letter which is what it actually is. C:, D:, and E: in the above image actually are partition designations.
 
Simply to see what/how Windows presents the drives.

[Note: Actually, looking back, I neglected to ask about the source of the image in Post #1..... Windows Explorer?]

Disk Management provides much more information about drives and partitions.

If all three lettered drives are "the same" then all would have the same icon.

A broken icon, I think, would result in all three drives, having the same icon as C:

Really do not know at this time.

Looking for somethng that is different with respect to C: vs D: & E:

Could delve even a bit deeper via Powershell. Not ready to do that yet......

The different icon may be the result of some property mis-configuration.

End users can chose icons for many things.

The "C: icon" difference may just be the result of a typo or some error in properties.
