why does this work? intel core quad q6600 and geforce gt 740 2 gb ddr5 plays battlefield 1 without lag 1360x768

intel core quad q6600 and radeon r7 260x 2 gb ddr5 unplayable in battlefield 1

tested in same computer together with 8 gb ddr3 ram

why does the combination with q6600 and geforce gt 740 perform much better than with the stronger card r7 260x?

i mean with the geforce gt 740 2gb ddr5 and the core quad q6600 it is fully smooth without lag and with the
radeon r7 260 it lags and is unplayable. the r7 260 should be better than the gt 740 and can play full hd in Another computer.

yes the r7 260x is working good in Another computer, i uninstalled the drivers from device manager but like you say its possible there is some corruption causing it.
i thought q6600 was to slow but i was wrong it got to be one of the longest lasting cpus

You need to use this

http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

to get rid of all the old drivers then, install the AMD drivers.

thanks but i Think i will keep the r7 260 in the other computer with a intel xeon x5450 and keep the gt 740 in this one , the goal was to upgrade two computers to decent performance and the xeon gets alot more out of the r7 260x than the core quad q6600 i was able
to get full hd in battlefield on that setup.
i will keep that in mind though

your result in a better performance may come down to the 3000mhz on the Xeon vs 2400mhz on the Core2Quad aswell
you could try to overclock the q6600 - if I remember correctly, clockspeeds of 3200mhz stable were common for this CPU - and try again
