Question Why is 960 a lot more expensive than 970?

It seems the SSD ("960" version) that I bought last time actually became even more expensive:

But strangely, I found that "970" version is a lot cheaper ($472):

How is this possible?

Is that "960" version somehow better than "970" ?

1. You're comparing the 960 PRO with the 970 EVO.
2. The 960 is long out of production. Someone looking for an exact replacement might pay that price premium.

Neither. Same speed
The Pro has, in theory, longer longevity.
But in normal consumer use...you will see absolutely no difference.

That relies far more on the CPU and RAM. The SSD is far down the list of things that impact that use.

Ah I see, we get a lot of people who would never come close to saturating EVO speeds, so I have to ask.
For computation that wont really deal with storage unless you are writing and transferring data around a lot, the actual computational work is not really storage dependent.

That being said, the 970 PRO/EVO has outstanding endurance, which depending on your use, may be required.
