[SOLVED] Why is the lower half of my screen dim, while the top half remains bright?

The lower half of my screen is dim while the top half remains bright. And sometimes it goes back to normal. Here i attach two images so you can see how it looks like.

My guess is part of the back-lighting is failing. Might be LED or fluorescent.

As much stuff as I've done with PCs, one thing I haven't done is mess with laptops. I really don't know if the screen can be disassembled to get at the backlighting safely or not. Might want to take it to a PC repair shop for some advice.
Otherwise, it is live with the distraction or buy a new laptop.
