Question WiFi connection keeps dropping ?

For context, my room is upstairs and the router is in the living room downstairs basically on the other side of the house. The connection up here has never been the best and I was getting tired of having bad connection, so I decided to get one of those Netgear wireless extenders and connected it to my laptop with an ethernet. Connection's been fine for a couple months now, but recently the connection's gotten real bad. It's gotten to the point that i cant even watch a stream and be in a voice call at the same time. I ran the troubleshooter and it says "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding". I've looked all over online for fixes (sfc and dism scans couldn't find anything and setting the dns and turning off ipv6 didn't help) and decided to come here to see if anyone can give me a hand. Any help would be appreciated.

Connections (network line diagram where ----> represents an Ethernet cable):

ISP === coax, DSL, fiber ===> Modem -----> Router ~~~~~~> Wireless extender -----> Laptop.

Edit and correct my line diagram as necessary.

What Netgear wireless extender did you get?

Make and model Router? (Or modem/router if combined.)

Double check that the laptops's wireless adapter is enabled.

Try another known working ethernet cable between the wireless extender and laptop.

On your laptop run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt. Post the results.

Your diagram's correct. I'm using a Powerline 1000 and my router is an AT&T Arris BGW210-700. Tried a different cable and its the same issue. Here's what ipconfig gave me:
