Hi, just ordered my 1070ti strix. I have a ”pretty” old cpu to be compared with the gpu. I have seen mixed opinions about it and i want an answer from someone who owns this specs or atleast knows the answer.

Thanks!

It really comes down to the game and resolution but at 1080P it may hold it back a bit so I'd go 1440P for the monitor. If you only have a 1080P monitor then utilize DSR, what this does is run the game at a higher resolution then scale it back to your native resolution. Doing this will better utilize the GPU and should look better then some AA options.

DSR is activated in the Nvidia Control Panel, I think under 3D settings (its been awhile). Start at 2X DSR then you'll see the option for a higher resolution in the game.

Thanks for the quick replies, i will try out the DSR method asap. I usually do gaming at 1080p 144hz, since i started to play shadow of the tomb raider i wanted some solid graphics. I will upgrade my cpu to a i7 9700k when i can afford it.
