Will this Processor
(http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Athlon-Cache-Dual-Processor/dp/B002BIQC6K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266857027&sr=1-1)
Work in this motherboard (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Motherboard-Phenom-Socket-Gigabit/dp/tech-data/B001U57QSI/ref=de_a_smtd)?

I'm planning on getting both but am a tad confused on which processors can go in which sockets, so some clarification would be a great help!

I wouldn't chance it; the motherboard only has official support for Athlon and Phenom not phenom II and athlon II. It's an old motherboard. Although, theoretically it should work since the Athlon II will work in AM2, AM2+ and AM3. I would suggest you get a good AM2+ motherboard.

Fair enough. I've also been looking at the Gigabyte GA-M52L-S3P mobo and that seems to have AM2+ socket. Now I just need to see if the planned kit will fit in my stock dell case. So far it's not looking good. :S Cheers though!
