Will a DDR3 work as it should work on a DDR2 motherboard?

I have just bought a new ASUS motherboard that calls for 1066Mgz. DDR2 memory. Can DDR3 fit in a DDR2 slot

No.DDR3 RAMs aren't compatible with DDR2 slots.

1066Mhz seems awfully fast for DD2. Also, if your MB is really NEW then it certainly should support DDR3 and not DDR2.

Are you SURE it doesn't support DDR3?
