Will a HDMI connection improve image quality over VGA on PC monitor?

I've been playing my 360 on my LG Flatron E2350V at 1920x1080 with the VGA monitor adapter that came with my first 360 way back when (I have an Elite now) and the image quality is surprisingly bad. It's very blurry and washed out looking. Especially when compared to playing PC games on the same monitor or the 360 on an HDTV.

I was wondering if switching to an HDMI cable would make a improvement at all? Or is playing consoles on a PC monitor just different than playing them on a TV?

He's playing at 1080, anything will work. And the v1.4 HDMI is widely misused. It's either High speed or Standard speed, with or without ethernet. But no devices can fully use either of them at this time.

I used to use a vga adapter for my xbox onto a 1080p monitor as well. The vga was perfect 1080p the entire time (well as high as xbox really gets anyway). When I tried to use an hdmi cord that is when resolutions got weird and picture got bad. So in my experience it provides no upgrade for something like the xbox where it is really only capped at 720 anyways.

Well if you're shopping for an HDMI cable let me point you in this direction: http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Digital-Audio-Ethernet-Connection/dp/B003CT2A6I/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1335732471&sr=1-2
Read the reviews, they speak for themselves!

disclaimer: I do not condone the purchase of such a product and it bears mentioning that there is no difference in signal from one hdmi cable to the next. Length is the only legitimate reason for one hdmi cable to be more expensive than another, and a $5.00 cable will provide the same image quality as a $2500.00 cable.

Just got an HDMI cable from Amazon and it did make a noticeable difference. Much deeper colors and blacks, sharper picture. But my new issue is that the HDMI port on the 360 Elite is right below the AV port my VGA adapter plugs into, which I plugged into my PC with another adapter to get sound out of my speakers. Both cords won't fit at once. Is there anything else I can do to get sound out?
