[SOLVED] Will a Ryzen 3700X bottleneck a 7900XT at 4K?

Solution
Hello

Will a Ryzen 3700X bottleneck a 7900XT at 4K? Or am I better with a 6950XT or a 4070 Ti?
It should generally be quite fine at that resolution. The 3700X should practically clear it.

Yeah, you can go with the 7900XT, but make sure that you go with a good vendor (Sapphire's the best).

Next step would be 8K. I suppose that CPUs like the i9-13900K and KS would already be able to work quite well at such resolutions (heavy tasks by implication). Yet, I suppose that we'll be hitting those resolutions more commonly around 2027/2028.

I remember that 1080p used to be the thing back in 2010, yet we still seem to be majorly at the 1080p point even today in terms of most systems. Things seem to be going ahead quite well, if only the software was better structured and written.

I guess you could calmly work with the 7900XT and 3700X in the next 5-6 years. It would be a very good experience, definitely in the high-end spectrum.

What about a 7900XTX? I found an open box 7900XTX for 200$CA more than the 7900XT, the 7900XT is 1200$CA and the 7900XTX is 1400$. I currently have a 2080 Ti, its fine for 4K60fps but I want to experience the high refresh rate as I never had a high refresh rate monitor.

Edit: The open box is a Gigabyte Gaming OC.

Well, you must make sure that firstly, if for some reason the GPU does not work or perform regularly you would be able to get your money back. The 7900XTX is about 20% faster than the 7900XT so I guess that a 15% difference in price is reasonable for the additional speed.

The best vendors are ASUS and Sapphire, although Gigabyte are still quite good and I suppose should not give you problems. Although do make sure that you would be able to retain your money if something ends up turning opaque.
