Will I have to reinstall Windows 10 after a motherboard swap?

I am going to be performing a motherboard swap soon and I have heard that you need to reinstall Windows. Is there any other solution to this? I have heard that you can just uninstall all drivers and reinstall them after you have done the swap. Will this affect performance in any way?

Update 1 - The motherboard I am currently using is has a H97 chipset, and the new one has a Z97.

Unless the two motherboards use similar chipsets, there is good chance your transplant would need reinstallation.

With Windows 8 and 8.1, you can just put your hard drive in any computer and it will configure itself to work with it so I'm sure Windows 10 will do the same.
