Will installing extra RAM cause this problem again?

I was recently a victim of this error:

Display Driver Has Stopped Responding

I already have 4x1GB RAM.

If I replace two of those 1GB sticks with two 2GB sticks, would this cause this problem again?

I was told it might be the cause but I'm not certain.

The card was eventually sent off and replaced in order to fix the problem.

The only way to tell is to install the ram again but if the card was faulty then it is unlikely.
