Will Intel core 2 duo e8400 work on P5VDC-MX mobo?

Solution
It should be mentioned on the board itself.. Check the board carefully.. Alternatively, you can download CPU-Z and run it to get detailed info about your board and other components..

Do you have the motherboard already.? If yes then check if it is a pcb rev. 2.0 or not.. If it is then the E7500 might just be supported..

Yes i do but crap i lost the box and its manual so I dont know how to find out whether its pcd r2.0

Is it possible to look in device manager / system settings to find out?

Thanks for the response

Ha! I just observed the mobo itself it has in small writing Rev 2.00 but the zeros are funny looking zeros. Whats up with that?

Anyway I believe the e7500 is compatible!

why not just get p5kpl-am or gd41ty board? that p5vdc-mx is based on via p4m900 chipset which is aged and not support many modern hardware like pcie 2.0, 65, 45nm processor and other device. and e8400 is 1333fsb while it support 800mhz which your e8400 will be hugely bottleneck if installed(but i doubt it will ever runs on that board.) so get other board if you want to buy it or sell it if you had one. it's old and not compatible.
